NY's Tax-Funded Ex-Terrorist

VAN Jones resigned as White House green-jobs czar after the public got a look at his history of radical activism, including his time building the so-called Apollo Alliance -- a coalition of left-wing interest groups unified around the green-jobs concept. But another, even more radical Jones (not related) is leading Apollo's New York state activities.

Jeff Jones was a domestic terrorist in the late '60s and a fugitive from justice throughout the '70s -- yet now he's a leader of an influential, taxpayer-funded group.

Jones was a fugitive from justice for 11 years. His own account at his Web site says: "As a leader of the Weather Underground, Jeff evaded an intense FBI manhunt for more than a decade. In 1981, they finally got him. Twenty special agents battered down the door of the Bronx apartment where he was living with his wife and four-year-old son."

With Mark Rudd and Bill Ayers, Jones in 1969 co-founded the radical Weatherman, which orchestrated the violent "Days of Rage" riots in Chicago, and later undertook an anti-government bombing campaign. Three of its members died when a bomb they were constructing to attack Fort Dix accidentally detonated in Greenwich Village.

And Jones is still proud of his terrorist activities -- saying as recently as 2004: "To this day, we still, lots of us, including me, still think it was the right thing to try to do."

Now, Jones is back to revolutionary organizing -- but with taxpayers footing the bill. He's the director of the Apollo Alliance's New York affiliate and a consultant to the national group.

Apollo unifies the three most powerful elements of the political left -- environmental groups, labor unions and street organizers like ACORN -- and points them toward a common goal that enriches all of them under the banner of "green jobs." (Van Jones was an Apollo board member until he joined the White House staff.)

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid recently credited Apollo with helping write the stimulus bill and getting it passed. Yet the stimulus' "green jobs" provisions funnel federal tax dollars to unions, green groups and community organizers -- that is, the organizations that make up Apollo.

Green jobs serve a political purpose, but not an economic one. The evidence from Spain and elsewhere is ample -- each green job created destroys more than two other jobs elsewhere in the economy.

Jeff Jones counts among his consulting clients (along with Apollo) a half-dozen state and local environmental groups and the Workforce Development Institute (WDI), a union-controlled organization ("developed in partnership with the NYS AFL-CIO," it says) that works with state and local government and universities.

The unions who are working with Jeff Jones should be real proud of themselves, and how does this type of activity help the American worker and benefit this country.

This ain't your Daddy's Democrat party anymore...

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

So make sure you don't vote and that way only Democrats will get elected and you get radical America-hating idiots like this running programs on your tax dollars. Brilliant idea. When I have a choice between moderates and insane Leninists I usually try to think about what life will be like in 30 years when America gets dissolved by these villains, rather than worry the moderate Republican isn't "conservative" enough, even though I wish they were more conservative. Although I don't like country club Republicans as a rule, I will take them over the insidious radical Marxists who are breeding in our universities and trying to tear the fabric of American life, tradition and culture to shreds. I know all about how they don't advance the cause etc. etc. But the alternative down the road is re-education camps, internment for conservatives, the end of the constitution and disarmament of the people.

Wake up and get over your bitterness.

If we the people push for term limits we wouldn't have to worry about all the self serving politicians making a career out of government. I voted for McCain even though he wasn't very conservative and leaned too far left for me on a number of issues, example his view on illegal immigration because I knew what Obama really stood for. I don't believe that I'll ever vote again for a Democratic candidate even though I have in the past and will not vote to re-elect anyone who doesn't share the values that are in the best interest of our country.

Well before you join the ranks of the other "never vote for a Republican again" crowd here, you should think of what kind of radical creatures Democrats consistently and quietly put into positions of power and influence at all levels from this criminal, all the way up to the Supreme Court. By turning your nose up at the sometimes meager offerings of the GOP at the ballot, you end up with these types running your nation, Van Jones, Cass Sunstein, et al.

Don't throw away your votes.

Hey GB....don't come down on us voters. Please stop blaming the voters..please!  I hope you are not that naive or uninformed to think that ANYONE wants a one rule government. But please don't shout the rhetoric about voting for 'the other guy' just because it is 'the other guy'. We are NOT that stupid or uninformed.

Please don't use the fear factor here. Please go and spew your rhetoric to the political parties that have ALL abandoned the people andhave caused this problem to begin with. The dems, reps and cons need to clean up their own act. They are ALL self serving, politicallyand personally motivated by greed and power. SIMPLE AS THAT!

Bitterness? You have got to be kidding right? How about replacing that word with 'fed up'! We are tired of the lies and false campaigning. Example....since when did H.Vell decrease our county taxes? Or Dago for that matter? NEVER!! Lie!

Since when was suhrada, a self proclaimed conservative in favor of raising taxes by creating a tax base for an ambulance that can be handled by a private enterprise. Along with joey, steve and stan.  Now they are back peddling and calling for a referendum. Fact: they all support a tax increase.

Why would we want M.Visus on the county leg when he is in favor of a tax break for people with in-law apts? Again increasing the taxes on those who don't. Fact: in favor of a tax increase.

Since when did fdg become interested in local government? Cause his taxes went up? I won't go any further than that!

So GB.......'we the people' believe that if the reps were in the majority, they would be doing the identical same thing....only the faces and beneficiaries would change.

And I agree with shadow.....TERM LIMITS!

...right, throw your vote away so the Democrats get in and dismantle the country. Like you did in 1992. Eight years of Clinton (who looks like a right winger compared to this guy) is the result of you being so unreasonable and indignant that Bush the elder wasn't "conservative" enough. how is the Ruth Bader Ginsburg doing, a true conservative as a result of your crazy scheme?

Proud of that I imagine LOL! You are doing the same thing, when all of a sudden most people are just waking up to the fact that the Democrats are spending us over the edge of eternity! THE FACTS ARE THE FACTS. You just want to live in fairy land.

Go ahead and throw that vote away...It makes perfect sense, since the Republicans aren't "pure" enough. LOL!!!

You are of course assuming that the No New Tax Party candidates are going to lose and therefore our votes will be wasted. You know what happens when you a**-u-me something don't you. Just maybe this town is ready to elect some real honest down to earth people who don't have an agenda for running for office other than being fed up with the way things have been done in this town.

Rome wasn't built in a day.....It may take a 'twitter generation' to get it moving.....no different than the whigs and the
federalists etc........many powerful parties have come through this America and ruled.....just because the past
how many years the public has been beholden to the DEMS and the REPS doesn't mean fresh/new cant happen.....

I'm probably too old to see the final ripple of the stone drop that causes the new delta.....

dont worry the dems undermine will be their loss of the unions....that was always their foundation...people are freer now to
choose via THE WORLD WIDE WEB/TWITTER/BLOGGING/FORUMS/INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION FROM THEIR
HOMES etc......the REPS will not be their demise......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

So if I am understanding you correctly....we will be throwing our vote away unless we vote for a rep? LOL!!! Is that our ONLY option? Is that our ONLY choice? This is America and to my knowledge is still a democracy, right?

Come on GB, the dems are clearly in control. I have never and will never vote for a dem. Locally, I won't vote for an ENDORSED con.And I'm all done voting for the local reps. Only the 4 NEW NO TAX PARTY levers will be flipped.

And sorry GB...if the reps lose....they have absolutely no one to blame but themselves. Everyone they have endorsed is far from conservative. They are ALL in favor of raising taxes either by supporting a tax district for an ambulance, giving people with inlaw apts tax breaks, environmentalists who want car pooling and the rest are recycled! And the dems are absolutely no better.

So don't threaten us with the fear tactic rhetoric. It's old...yawn!!!!!
