I have a Brad Littlefield sign on 'my property'. I requested one. I have since noticed a Viscusi/Barrie sign also on 'my property'. I never requested one and was never even asked if it could be placed on 'my property'.. I took the Viscusi/Barrie sign down. Has this happened to anyone else? And can they just arbitrarily do this?

The campaign sign games that are played by some every election cycle are a sign of immaturity, desparation
and a lack of commitment to our democratic form of government.

I have spoken with several residents in recent days who have had campaign signs erected on their lawns without
permission or request.  Several of my signs have been destroyed or stolen.

One of my friends who lives in Duanesburg and who is active in Democratic party was ordered by her party boss
to remove my campaign sign from her lawn.  I am disappointed that politics seemingly trumps friendship.
There was another sign taken from a location just down the road.

It is my understanding that it is a violation of law to remove or destroy campaign signs.  If anyone witnesses such
activity, take a picture, report it to the police, and post the photo on this forum for all to see.

Silly Season has begun! The major parties have a list of sign locations that they use year after year. They also like to put up illegal signs on the side of the road.

Did you see the vanity special billboard of Sheriff candidate Dom Dag by Five corners? Another new low.

Police: Vandals
may have torched
campaign signs

ROTTERDAM — Police said two campaign signs on the lawn of a Patton Street residence were set on fire early Sunday morning.
Lt. Michael Brown said the resident awoke shortly after 3 a.m. to find the signs had been torched. He said the signs were positioned far enough from the residence that they posed no immediate threat to surrounding structures.
Brown said one sign advertised Republican Town Board candidates Joe Signore, Joe Suhrada and Supervisor Steve Tommasone. He said the other sign advertised Lynn Fiorillo, the Republican candidate for town clerk; a nearby garage sale sign was also torched in the neighborhood.
Brown said police are continuing to investigate the case, which could be charged as arson and criminal mischief. He said the preliminary investigation suggests the fire wasn’t politically motivated and may have been set by vandals.
Brown said the reports of vandalism and theft of campaign signs this year has been on par with previous elections. .

That makes sense considering that alleged perpetrators of the crimes aren't arrested and charged.

But in previous elections, were the signs stolen by family members too? Is that on par too?

Agreed.  Lazzari has my vote.

The illegal act of his opponents releasing Lazzari's confidential employment files sealed the deal for me.
I don't know which fool was advising Dagastino's campaign or who thought that this illegal act would benefit
his campaign, but it will likely result in Lazzari's victory.
