With all those tax cuts, job eliminations, and fiscal discipline being shown why hasn't the taxes gone down in the city/county?

I also received a hilarious mailer from the "working together" team. This claims that DAG/Vellano will bring a 2% County tax reduction. WOW!-after a 10% increase. Holly Vellano is not even sitting on the County Legislature-AND this decrease has not been voted on yet. Already the KRATS are up to their old tricks.

  How can they take credit for something they had nothing to do with? 2 tax and spend experts masquerading as fiscal conservatives. Only in Schenectady County.

  If Holly Vellano wants to take credit for something let it be the horrible Rotterdam revaluation. If not for her YES! vote there would have been no townwide reval. How much did this cause your town taxes to decrease? lol.

The 2010 budget will be finalized in the 4th quarter of 2009.  Those who are newly elected to the County Legislature will be sworn in January 2010, months after the budget has been passed.

Budget cuts in 3 of the last 5 years?  Might they have been in the three years (in the past five) in which there were local elections?  You are correct that last years (a non election year) budget resulted in an increase just under 10%.

It is an absolute disgrace that these 2 are masquerading as some kind of tax cutters. Holly Vellano was the deciding vote in slamming us with a revaluation. Even worse is Judy DAG-the Rotterdam Little League expert. Both are tax and spend liberals.

  CONS have a no brainer next Tuesday. Vote only for business leader, Duanesburg EMS volunteer, community leader, NO NEW TAXES co-founder, Brad Littlefield.

My neighbor, again, gave me their conservative mailer for vell, dago and dg. It is a mailer for the primary. It says on one side, 'VOTE FOR THE REAL ENDORSED CONSERVATIVE TEAM'. Like who cares who they endorse. They endorsed Cooke for town supervisor a while back too!

It goes on to say, 'ANOTHER TAX CUT NOW TO REDUCE THE BURDEN ON FAMILIES AND BUSINESSES'. They fail to mention that the tax cut is clearly due to the stimulus money, which is actually tax money, doled out by the feds. They have cut nothing!

And lastly, it goes on to say, 'WHAT DISTINGUISHES THIS TEAM (vell,dago and dg), IS THAT THEY ARE COMMITTED TO CONTROLLING TAXES AND HAVE THE RIGHT EXPERIENCE TO DO IT'. What taxes has dago ever cut? Or vell for that matter. As far as dg....

Judy DAG has raised County taxes dozens of times. She is a reliable yes woman for horrible Sue Savage.

Holly Vellano distinguished herself by being the deciding vote for townwide reval.

  There are 2 candidates deserving the CONS vote. If you live in the Hilltowns/Rotterdam vote only for Brad Littlefield for County Legislature. If you live in Rotterdam vote also for Brian McGarry for Supervisor. They are the only 2 on the Conservative line with business expertise and experience in budgeting.

Well are they now against Obama? Or do they back him? They can at least clarify whether they support him and his policies, right? I imagine at least Holly does not but Judy is a state democratic committee person.
