Thank you BT for showing how responsible towns that are serious about teenaged drinking handle this. Compare this with the Schenectady "leaders". Super Elys has "no comment". Disinformation leader Karen Corona has "no comment". Of course the entire Casino family is in hiding including the joke school bored member and 3 school employees. The worst part is the wall of silence from the horrible School Bored. Maxine Brisport pretrends she hasn't seen anything. No one else has a comment? How about "this teen aged facilitation of alcohol will not be tolerated in either School Bored members or staff." Fire them all-tonight. |

It's too bad Ms Wachala isn't on the board - she'd have exposed this and demanded full accountability already. |

The people's choice has been silenced. Some better news: The State Education Department has started an investigation into the underaged drinking party hosted by School Bored member James Casino and his wife Donna Casino a 6th grade teacher at Hamilton School. Casino has two children also on the School payroll. But he is in it "for the kids" and doesn't want any pay for his work "for the people"-ROTFLMAO!! Have they resigned in disgrace yet? |

School board member Casino absent from meeting Session is first since party photos surfaced Thursday, September 3, 2009 By Michael Goot (Contact) Gazette Reporter
SCHENECTADY — Board of Education member James Casino was not present at Wednesday’s meeting, and the controversy over his alleged hosting of two drinking parties for his son was only briefly mentioned. Casino and his wife, Donna, a sixth-grade teacher at Hamilton Elementary School, hosted high school graduation and going away parties for their son Jimmy. Photos from those parties posted on Facebook show Jimmy drinking a substance as it flows along a channel carved in a block of ice. A bottle of Jagermeister liqueur is visible in the background. In another photo, Donna Casino is shown being held over a beer keg by some young people. At least three people at the party were recent high school graduates. The photos have since been removed. Police obtained a copy of the photos on Tuesday, according to department spokesman Sgt. Eric Clifford. He said he is not sure where they were from, possibly a television station. He said the next likely step is interviewing witnesses to see if alcohol was served to underage people at the party. If so, it could result in charges. However, it is not illegal to serve alcohol to your own children. Board President Maxine Brisport called the photos examples of “poor judgment” in parenting. She said she has received several e-mails asking her to fire Casino and his wife. Brisport said it is not that simple. The board president has only one vote and is bound by contracts, union rules and education law, she said. “Honestly, I wish I individually had the power to pursue some of the requests to make the changes,” she said. “Being the board president comes with very specific and limited duties. The board president alone cannot hire or fire anyone. The board president alone cannot rescind any contracts or remove someone from a tenure or non-tenured position.”...................>>>>.....................................>>>>....................http://www.dailygazette.com/news/2009/sep/03/0903_board/

School board: Did someone say party? Thursday, September 3, 2009 By Carl Strock, Gazette Columnist
Anyone who went to the Schenectady school board meeting last night expecting fireworks, like the local television crews that were there, had to have been disappointed. In the first place, the anticipated star of the proceedings, James “Pa Dukes” Casino, was a no-show. He’s the board member who was shown in Facebook photos hosting a drinking party for his high-school graduating son. And in the second place, the whole racy subject of that drinking party, or actually two of them, in which Pa Dukes’ teacher-wife was also a high-profile participant, was scarcely mentioned. Yes, the board president, Maxine Brisport, referred to the “events of the last few days,” but without saying what those events were, and yes, she submitted that the pictures “gave evidence of poor judgment,” but without explaining what pictures she was talking about. And yes, she also acknowledged receiving calls and e-mails demanding that she “fire that teacher” and “kick off that board member,” without saying what teacher or what board member, which she unnecessarily explained she didn’t have the power to do. But as for an even restrained statement to the effect that James “Pa Dukes” Casino had scandalized the Schenectady City School District beyond what it has already been scandalized, and his wife had done likewise, there was nothing. Not even from Diane Herrmann, the newly elected member who ran as an outsider promising transparency and accountability. OK, a feisty speaker from the floor, former Niskayuna school board member Bill McColl, did declare in response to his own rhetorical question, “Yes, you have no shame,” and he did ask the board members who were in attendance to counsel their errant and absent colleague to “do the good and honorable thing and resign,” but that’s as far as it went....................>>>>.....................................>>>>.....................http://www.dailygazette.com/news/2009/sep/03/0903/

Another profile in courage by Maxine Brisport? She has mastered the deer in the headlight look. Then this quote of the month: "If this continues, this will district will become stagnant and will be {sic} become worn out by a constant barrage of unnecessary scrutiny", stated Maxine Brisport- TU 9/3/09. Hey Maxine you deserve the scrutiny because you refuse to do anything. You refused to fire The Mad Bomber, you unnecessarily extended contracts, you replaced a business woman with a patronage queen-now this disgrace. And worse no one has the decency to state the obvious that this behavior will no longer be tolerated by teachers, by administrators, by Bored members. |

IF the man Casino's had any balls at all, they would publically denounce and appologize..
Instead they are hiding...
This is a VERY forgiving country, and a VERY forgiving state..
Saying "i'm sorry, i screwed up, it won't happen" would go a long way (not with me) but with alot of people..
Judge a man not by if his actions are right or wrong, but how he handles his mistakes.... |
| I don't spell check! Sorry... If you include "No offense" in a statement, chances are, your statement is offensive. |

Sorry vaedur, but I think the people's confessional is far too small to fit all of the 'I'm sorrys' from that school district. |

Agreed that a long overdue apology is in order. Make a big confessional in the Black Box Theatre. But again, legal considerations, blah, blah, blah. Nobody knew nuthin, nobody saw nuthin, nobody say nuthin. Pretend it will go away and of course hold onto your positions like grim death. No need to set a positive example-this is Schenectady-Upstate's basket case. Who cares if you bring further disgrace on a disgraceful district? Was Linda Bellick at the kegger? How about Jiffy Jeffy? How about Lisa Russo? But the daughter was there-in a proper keg stance? lol. We're just here for the beer! |

Listen...this should have been such a cut and dry case for this nonsense, that it is becoming bizarre. Schenectady is clearly a laughing stock between it's government, schools and local media! Strock (gazette) ADMITS to having the pictures on his computer Sunday 8/31/09. Strock (gazette) ADMITS to verifying under aged people at this party. And yet the gazette and school officials say they 'can't find the pics'! The pics miraculously appear in the TU! Strock just did an article on the health care debate....calling it a 'mob scene'. I guess strock and the gazette had the same mentality when it came to this party fiasco. I'm not defending these adult, school employee's choice of party hosing...but the gazette is apparently trying to create news as opposed to reporting it. |
