NEWSFLASH- According to my sources, the last new car dealer in the City Mohawk Honda is set to relocate to the former Salisbury Chevy in Glenville. This will give Mohawk Honda a much bigger lot, more traffic and they will expand the former Salibury showroom. Another indication of the continued downward spiral of the City, which in the 60's had dozens of new car dealers lining State St.

The question remains what will happen to the old Mohawk Lot? Perhaps a new parking lot for Metrograft Parking Lot Authority to handle the 700,000 visitors {Death Ray figures}to Proctor's and Movie House? LOL!

The last time I went to Mohawk Honda, was a few years ago with a friend who was looking to buy a car. We were approached a couple of times, while in the lot, to see if we wanted to buy drugs! YUP...true story! I and my friend never went back. We were off to central ave.

So it would clearly be in their best interest to move on out and move on up cause they are truly great people there!

It will be shovel ready.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

More than 1/2 the city is shovel ready. It's a crime ridden, welfare dependent, overtaxed grave yard!!!IMHO

Everything Ray says is shovel ready. He will spin this as a positive like they did when Kem Cleaners fled Erie Blvd for Glenville.

Death Ray didn't know that Contec was fleeing until a Gazetto reporter told him. Another 500 jobs gone on his "watch". Meanwhile Fulton County is getting 1,200 new jobs without Metrograft taxes.

Still like the idea of another Metrograft empty parking lot. For the "700,000 patrons" {actual figure from Death Ray's} of Proctor's and the movie house? Then they can run to the show?

If this city really wants to attract new businesses all they have to do is stop the gang violence and crime, clean up the neglected neighborhoods, repair the infrastructure, reduce taxes, and give new businesses a 5 year tax break when they open a new company here. This would also allow us to get rid of Metroplex as they won't be needed any more saving the taxpayers even more money.

Very draconian. All these latest developments are simply victories in Obama's war on freedom and the American economy.

GLENVILLE
Mohawk Honda clears first hurdle for new dealership on Route 50

BY MICHAEL LAMENDOLA AND KATHLEEN MOORE
Gazette Reporters
Reach Gazette reporters Michael Lamendola at 395-3114 or lamend@dailygazette.com and Kathleen Moore at 395-3120 or moore@dailygazette.com.

Mohawk Honda cleared the fi rst hurdle Monday in its proposal to establish a new car dealership at the former Salisbury Chevrolet facility on Freemans Bridge Road and Route 50.
Glenville’s Environmental Conservation Commission approved the site plan, moving it on to the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission.
The Environmental Conservation Commission, which is an advisory body, makes recommendations on the environmental impact of every plan. It focused on the dealership’s floor drains and potential contamination on the site, said Michael Burns, a planner for the town.
After a discussion of how Mohawk Honda would clean up the possible contamination, the commission agreed to move the plan forward to the Dec. 14 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.
“It all looked pretty good,” Burns said.
Mohawk Honda wants to expand the existing building on the site to accommodate more inventory and to expand the parking lot by approximately 30 percent, Town Planner Kevin Corcoran said.
The parking lot expansion would occupy a grassy area between First Niagara Bank and the current Salisbury parking lot. ............................>>>>.........................>>>>......................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01003&AppName=1

That will be a tremendous boost for Mohawk Honda. I don't know how they did it all of these years at that location. There were drug dealers everywhere.

It's a win-win for both glenville and mohawk honda!

Mohawk Honda
gets preliminary OK

GLENVILLE — Mohawk Honda has received preliminary approval for its plan to move part of its operations to the former Salisbury Chevrolet site.
The Planning and Zoning Commission set a public hearing for Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. Planning Director Kevin Corcoran said the commission may grant final approval at that time. It is seeking a revised lighting plan for the site on Freemans Bridge Road and Route 50. “It looked like they were using some pretty high intensity that would spill off the site,” he said.
Also, the commission wants verification that underground storage tanks on the property will be removed.
Corcoran said previously that Mohawk Honda wants to expand the existing building onsite and expand the parking lot by 30 percent, occupying a grassy area between first Niagara Bank and the current Salisbury parking lot. The former Salisbury Chevrolet site had to contain at least 80 percent new cars by town code.
In addition, Mohawk needs to go before the Zoning Board of Appeals on Monday for a conditional use permit. All car dealerships operating in town need this permit under the zoning ordinance.
Salisbury lost its franchise agreement with General Motors as part of a cost-cutting move by the corporation and ended operations in July after 26 years.

And the Democrats who claim to be "conservative."
