There's an old abandoned strip plaza (with upstairs apartments) at the corner of Guilderland and Curry. I think it was a proposed Walgreens at one time.  The condition of the building is horrible.  Broken windows, open doors, weeds/trees/garbage. A fence was put up a year or so ago, but it doesn't even surround half the building.  A steel skeleton sits on top that once housed billboards - it's now vacant and looks like a huge lightning rod.

Anyone know the status on this?  They made Capital Plaza clean up their outside appearance, but nothing is done to this building which is right across from Memorial Park and down the street from Town Hall?  Other merchants near that intersection (with the exception of the old Sorrento's Italian Restaurant on Guilderland) are looking good, clean, neat - yet this is a disgrace.

Wouldn't it be better if the building was just leveled? Anyone know what's going on with it?

Actually, the latest on this location was that they were looking to get a couple of the houses right around it so they could move the 5 Corners CVS to this location...but that was before they had the hold up with the Altamont / Chrysler store.  Seems as though CVS THOUGHT they were going to be coming into some money recently before things went awry to some extent.  I think part of the issue here is that the pizza place and the printing place would also have to be bought out (both of which are owned by one or the other, I forget which, but it's posted in here somewhere).

Ya, Mike Potorti owns First Class Products - I'm pretty sure he bought that entire building.

Then he owns both First Class and 4 Corners Pizzeria.  At least that's what I heard before.
