Anyone know what's what with Hamburg and Curry Rd closing, there's signs all over but it doesn't say times (if any) and will it be completely closed or something like one lane only?  My son frequently takes the bus that goes oer Altamont, then Curry, then Hamburg.  CDTA knows nothing about it at all when he called, the drivers don't know anything, the Rotterdam PD doesn't know anything, it's a state road project but their website doesn't say anything.

It's for the roundabout - it'll be completely closed July 10-14.

I can't imagine RPD or CDTA didn't know anything about it - it's been discussed for months.

That DOT page I went to, but it doesn't give specifics about road closings.    There's still nothing that says that everything will be closed, totally, during those dates.  What are the detour routes.  What are the detour routes for CDTA.  And will it be closed on the weekend, that is, how to people go to Mass at St. Gabriel's on Saturday-Sunday?  I would think that Curry Rd is the road for trucks too, like get off the Thruway, on Curry Rd and go to Chopper, Hannaford and Walmart.....I'm thinking they can't go to Michigan Ave to Altamont because of the underpass and surely they can't get off Highbridge and go the residental side streets.

And when it says "closed" what exactly is closed, only the intersection?

Quoted Text
Routes 7 and 146, Rotterdam: Alternating one-way traffic on Route 146, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, for installation of roundabout.

Sounds like this intersection is going to be a mess all week. Perfect time to avoid it. Lousy week for commuters

According to someone my sister knows, the CDTA busess will detour through Coldbrook and come out by Stewarts on Hamburg (or enter through there) so I guess people beyond stewarts wont' be able to get the bus.  Supposedly the church on the corner of Hamburg and Curry would not allow the bus to drive through their empty parking lot, how unChristian

Well mikechristine1 - it looks like you're not the only one who thinks there wasn't enough public notice about a roundabout being installed at 7&146.  I have to agree, outside of this forum, very few people I've talked to knew anything about it.

The secret to this Roundabout riddle lies in visiting local business effected by the closure as they were provided with accurate info on what when and where roads would be open for use

some even posted this info for their customers

thus i was able to venture thru this area with in 3hrs of its opening

so please support local "Rotterdam Business"

Amen to that, pope.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
