Tedisco et al. have been ‘representing’ us too long

This is in response to Assemblyman Jim Tedisco's June 28 letter regarding the current condition and continued dysfunction of our state government I would like to add another word for consideration: delusional. Feel free to look it up if you like. I believe this word accurately characterizes the people involved — namely, all of us.
We, the people of this once-great state, continue to send career politicians like Mr. Tedisco to Albany to "represent" us, and then seem surprised and dismayed by the results or lack of. It seems that our senators may be most deluded in thinking that they are in a power struggle and that there is a right side to be aligned with. Power truly rests in the hands of the people of this state, although we have failed to use it wisely.
Schenectady County taxpayers continue to struggle under the weight of an excessive tax burden, and those of us who haven't left yet seem somehow continually pleased with the Farleys, Tediscos, Tonkos, etc., who have "represented" us. The only true reform will come when we reject the status quo and embrace new and independent candidates who will serve at our will for no more than two terms, and anyone with more than two terms now should leave office immediately (make me a believer, Jim).
As I have watched friends and associates continue to leave New York, I keep recalling Eliot Spitzer's campaign words that affirmed the seemingly obvious: If we don't fix the property tax situation in this state, there "won't be anyone left to turn the lights out."
Could it be that Mr. Spitzer had a moment of clarity? Power struggles and reform will fail until the people reclaim their power.

So do something more about it Mr. Schworm! Get out and talk to the sheople out there face to face. However, I give him credit for writing this letter to the editor! Let's vote these bums out.

I'm beginning to think that we need to write in 'spitzer' for the next gov's election! yes?
