Pope ~ you're not really suggesting that the town government control overtime by union members are you? Does the same go for PBA and CSEA unions? Or just pick out anyone who fits your attack? The public employees are NOT to blame for their contract rights! It's the elected officials who give them whatever they want.
Watch, if DelGallo/McGarry win you will see someone finally stand up for the taxpayers and not their own self serving interests.
This is the post I was answering........sorry....

ROTTERDAM Town clerk knocks effort to hire deputy registrar BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter Reach Gazette reporter Justin Mason at 395-3113 or jmason@dailygazette.net.
Longtime Town Clerk Eunice Esposito has demanded the Town Board not appoint a deputy registrar of vital statistic, claiming the move would add “yet another patronage position” to Rotterdam’s already bloated budget. In a memo she released Wednesday, Esposito railed against a resolution that would give the position to Cindy Dumar, a full-time typist hired for the clerk’s office in May. If appointed deputy registrar, Dumar would receive an additional $1,750 annually on top of her $31,415 salary, according to the resolution that was tabled until September’s meeting. “Adding yet another patronage position to our already overburdened taxpayers at this time is an action that I cannot endorse,” the 82-year-old town clerk stated in the memo, which was also forwarded to the town’s privately contracted law firm. Esposito’s memo also indicates Laura Cagnina, a part-time typist laid off after Dumar was hired, had served in the capacity as deputy registrar for eight months. She claims Cagnina fulfilled the job detail without pay or compensation. But Supervisor Steve Tommasone said Esposito has failed to appoint someone to the position, which is responsible for maintaining important records such as birth and death certificates in the absence of the elected clerk. Tommasone said state law obligates the elected clerk to appoint two deputies —a deputy clerk and deputy registrar. He said Esposito hasn’t bothered to fill either post this year. “The law does not say if you feel like it or maybe,” he said. Absent a deputy registrar, he said vital town business could be stymied in the event Esposito isn’t able to come to work. Last week, Esposito was taken from Town Hall in an ambulance and hospitalized for two days after reporting abnormal heart palpitations to paramedics. ................>>>>.................>>>>.............http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01402&AppName=1
I saw a Forillo campaign sign yesterday. Again I ask....if they are not in a primary, isn't it a bit early? Anyone know this for sure?

Per Rotterdam Town Code 270-151.1 –G. Political signs shall not be erected or placed earlier than September 1 of the year of the primary and general election for the candidate named on the sign and shall be removed within 14 days after the election. It shall be the responsibility of the person erecting or placing the sign to cause its removal.
********************************************** Guess it is a little too early to display the campaign signs!
Thanks. I actually thought that maybe it was 30 days before an election whether primary or general. Yup....it is a little too early.

After reading the article [Aug. 20 Gazette] about the Rotterdam town supervisor berating Town Clerk Eunice Esposito, who has served the people for 11 terms, I came away feeling ill. Eunice Esposito has over the years saved the taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars through her work efforts and knowledge of the job. On the other hand, Supervisor [Steve] Tommasone has shown his ineptness in performing his job, as evidenced by the grass-roots effort to replace him. Now Mr. Tommasone feels he can bully a woman who was taking care of taxpayers’ needs since before he was born. For 11 terms, Rotterdam taxpayers have been satisfied with the job being done by Eunice. I know her and she is not intimidated by Tommasone or any of his cronies. In point of fact, she has more mustard than most and will continue to serve long after Tommasone is gone. As far as hiring a deputy registrar of vital statistics, this is the job of the town clerk! If our town clerk needs help, she will take action to obtain it and you can be sure there won’t be any patronage, as is the case with the current town board and supervisor. Thankfully, November and Election Day will be coming soon and Rotterdam will have a new supervisor in the person of Frank DelGallo. He and other candidates on his slate will work with our town clerk and let her do her job. Mr. Tommasone should be ashamed of himself for not only attacking Eunice Esposito, but for sticking it to the taxpayers once more with patronage.
OMG ............This gary guy has got to be kidding right? Please tell me how a 'town CLERK' saves the town money? HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! WOW...she should run for supervisor, huh?
Sorry Eunie, but you are creating and others are making you a political joke in town. ex.the above article. Nobody gives a crap. Really! If ya get voted in fine...if not fine....who really care?
Sparky for supervisor....still absolutely hilarious!
