Here's what I find even more ironic ~ I don't think there is any doubt at this point that both McGarry and DelGallo are far more conservative than Tommasone.  Also, I understand that Dom Dagostino is supporting DelGallo in the conservative primary (along with the conservative party) ~ Steve is toast.

Pope ~ GB ~ I couldn't quite figure out where the increase proposals were, but it is my understanding the first budget proposals that Tommasone has been required to submit have all been in the double digits.  I think that is what a previous poster was pointing to.  As far as the final increase in tax levy, just look to last year as an example;  the town residents went CRAZY over Steve's proposed 17% increase!  Don't think so?  Roll the tape.  Tommasone said that there was no way he could get the budget down and Signore said if they did the town would pay for it this year (an election year).  Then when the final budget was put on the table, Tommasone accused Mertz & Silva of raiding the fund balance and distressing the towns finances.  Don't think so?  Roll the tape.

So, weren't we all told recently that the Town's fiscal health isn't too bad?  Hmmm, I thought Tommasone said use of the fund balance would ruin the finances.  Also, it was Steve who said that there was NO MORE ROOM to move the budget down, then when REMS needed a bail out ~ whalla pooof ~ Tommasone makes $100k appear out of nowhere.

Don't tell me the budget doesn't have fat.  Don't tell me that Tommasone's a fiscal conservative.  Don't tell me that anyone who is running as a Tommasone Republican has a fiscal bone in their body.  Mike, you're on the right track ~ NO NEW TAX PARTY

It's time for the "No New Tax Party" to return the town to fiscal responsibility once more.

Republicans are so convinced that government cannot ever work that when they get elected they make true their belief.  The result is government that costs more and does less.  Every politician says he or she is opposed to taxes.  What is the actual plan to control them?  What are you going to cut?  What are you not going to fund?  What are your specific savings?

The whole GOP crop has no real, specific ideas, just platitudes about the problem.

Not even Saint Michael has given us anything REAL.  And the rest of them are in office now following the game plan to do less that costs more....and wring hands over the tax burden they are not addressing.

Are you saying that only the Republicans are doing the spending, I see the Democrats spending just as much if not more in the city. As far as I'm concerned both parties are the same and only the names are changed to protect the guilty. At least the No New Tax Party is telling us that they are not going to raise our taxes any higher.

Both parties are tax and spend! Both parties have lost their baseline ideology! The no tax party WILL emerge as the new party! FINALLY!!!!

Finally 'viable candidates'. No sparky, no HV (the party flipper), no JS (the county quiter).....now we finally have real candidates witha real platform. It has been long overdue and a long time coming!

I'm really getting tired of using religion in arguments - specifically bashing catholics and taking their name in vain.

So are you saying that some people are just plain ignorant and lack class? Yes?
