Sal ~ come on, you're killing my eyes.

Michael ~ don’t get ahead of yourself, and be careful running so close with Mertz.  Whether you like Mertz or not, you can’t dispute that he pisses half the people off!  Also, it doesn’t matter if you think that he pisses the right people off, in politics you need to be a politician too; like it or not and from what I understand Mertz is not as concerned with winning as he is getting even and that will no doubt hurt all the Repub incumbents.

They talk about candidates having a “fire in the belly” that motivates them in the campaign, well you guys will need it and it needs to be there for the right reasons!  Tommasone, Signore, Surhada and Mertz are not in it for the right reasons IMHO.  The first three are in it for self serving reasons and the last one is in it for revenge, not the right reasons.

Now, you three independent guys have a punchers shot. The misfits running the town Repub party are so obsessed with ousting Mertz, they will surely implode and that opens the door up for you guys.  So, Michael, stand back and let them self-destruct, then walk in.  This could be a good thing, new faces and a new direction may be in order.  Also, one other bit of advice, stay positive!  The residents are sick and tired of negative do-nothing campaigns!  When the old Repubs start their fight, walk in the other direction ~ I have a sneaky suspicion it’s gonna be really ugly and the Dems are licking their chops at the opportunity to take back the town.

“Change” ~ still seems popular to me.
I have to disagree with you on this one. The only people that Mertz may have pissed off was his own town board/leadership reps. He has a huge voter base out there. And there are a ton of people out there that were and still are pissed cause Mertz was outted and not endorsed by his own party. I also don't see Mertz as running just for revenge, honestly. Not his style. Not to mention, that would be a high price monetarily, to pay just to piss someone off. There would be other ways. Just my opinion here.

But no matter what....I see oconner as ONE of the winner here!

Bumble ~ I would be remiss if I didn’t give Surhada a quick mention, after all, he was the architect of one of the dirtiest campaigns in Rotterdam/Schenectady County politics.  Quite frankly, Sherman didn’t deserve to get dragged in by the horrible dirty campaign tactics of Buchanan/Parisi/Surhada.

Based on GB's response to one my previous post, I believe it's safe to say that stopping Surhada is front and center.  Talk is cheap, when he didn’t get his way on the county level he picked up his ball and went home.  Now he espouses desire to make a difference in a way that is closer to the people?  Are you kidding?  Surhada has no credibility.  For anyone who thinks he’s electible, Benny that includes you and GB, guess again.  Like I said before, it’s easy to be an outspoken conservative when you’re in the minority and the Rotterdam residents are sick of the negative campaigns.

I'll say it again ~ these guys will rip each other apart.

Quoted from Michael

I’m always open to answering questions.

A)     I have high respect for John Mertz.  Though we sometimes disagree, we’ve always been able to respect each other’s viewpoint.  I believe he has been a tremendous voice for the residents.  I know he has rankled some portions of the electorate as well, but that’s probably true of every elected official.  It’s hard to please everyone all of the time.

B)     I have a mixed opinion of Steve T. currently.  I have supported him in the past but think he has drifted in the wrong direction, especially when it comes to fiscal restraint.  His leadership has not resulted in the progress I remember him promising on my doorstep when he campaigned last time around.  My specific gripes are all a well-documented matter of public record.

C)     I have always found Bob Godlewski difficult to pigeon hole.  Many of his opinions confounded me when he was a member of the Planning Commission.  As a Town Board member he failed to impress me personally but I don’t think there can be a dispute that his fiscal observations are often accurate.  His short tenure there warrants some latitude in judging him.  Mr. Godlewski appears to be able to watch the money.  That’s a quality I appreciate.

I hope I’ve answered your question adequately.  I’m committed to not knocking the other candidates.  I’d prefer to stand on what I intend to bring to the table and let the voters weigh it for themselves.  My involvement in this election stems from a fundamental belief that we need to reduce the current tax burden.  I think we can do better which is why I’m getting involved.  I’m committed to 0% tax increases.  I realize some will dismiss that as some sort of gimmick but I’m a taxpayer, not a politician – so it is what it is.  Anyway, check out my website http://www.michael-oconnor.org for more information or simply continue to ask me questions.  You’ll always know where I stand, if you ask.

OK Mike.....
at least you answered them.
I may not agree with them.....but whatever,,,,that's what it's all about.
Thor has lowered his hammer......You may pass........
Good luck

Doesn't every candidate piss off 50% of the people? (usually/approximately)

Michael ~ I told you running so close to Mertz would cause people to be pissed off at you - now look what you have done to GB!  You can probably count out Tommasone, Signore, Surhada and Marchinkowski for supporting you in the upcoming election.

I hope the M&M boys work as hard as you do (McGarry&Merz)!

It is hard to believe the scandal of it all.  O'Connor contacts an election commissioner about an election matter.  And scandalously the commissioner says to him he has whatever legal recourse anybody else has.  The conspiracy between the illuminati in downtown Schenectady and Mr. O'Connor is plain to see.  GB needs to tighten that Bonnet, storm clouds are descending.

Congrats Michael for turning in so many petitions and forming the NO TAX PARTY. Hopefully, this party will soon be Countywide. Real demand for it in Nisky/City. Expect flak from the few living dead enders.

Unlike many you backed up your posts with hard work. Some of these election "experts' are hilarious. Don't expect yellow dog KRATS to understand what's happening over here. They need to get their new talking points at the bagel shoppe.

Michael OConner is a very well respected man in rotterdam. He is honest, focused and LISTENS to the people. I have talked to people who's doors he has knocked on for signatures and the sentiment is overwhelmingly positive. Dems, reps, cons and blanks have only positive and hopeful things to say about him and all those in the new no tax party...... and they have all said that he and the rest in this new party will get their votes.

Good job Michael!
