And this surprised who in rotterdam?
And to think the 'computer contract' was considered a travesty in rotterdam!

The computer contract involved taxpayer money spent to benefit a business run by a member
of the Town Board ..  if memory serves me right it was not even sent out for bid.

Golub is a PRIVATE corporation and it really isn't any of our business who they choose to do
business with.

Except for the minor little fact that Mr. Golub himself has stepped in to a role of government, being a leader on the Metroplex board.  If they want to be private, then stay private and pay ALL their own taxes, including the taxes on that brand new building that they were graciously donated tax-free for however many years it is.  That keeps Golub as a private corporation, except for the fact that they take tax breaks from a government entity.  That just doesn't make them so-PRIVATE.

I'm not sure if the Price Chopper office building is owned by Golulb.  I think the way it works is; It's Galesi's building, they get the tax break through Metroplex, and Golub gets the saving passed on to him through 100 year lease.   It may be the same deal with the Freezer.  It's a little slight of hand.

or

Mr Delgallo officer(co-owner) of a private corp

Mr Delgallo just sworn in as Supervisor

Mr Delgallo as supervisor can now apply pressure to boards and commissions to supply the proper recommendation

Mr Delgallo votes on a resolution allowing the project to be approved - he can because the project has not yet started

A few months later a company to which Mr Delgallo is a Officer(Co-Owner) is working/given/awarded a $100,000 plus project which he helped approved

two ends to the middle the deal "STINKS" for both the town and Dolan Drive

First -  Golub Corporation is a much bugger than Neil Golub.

Second - My post was related to the issue of the fence being built by Golub near the warehouse ... the
Golub Corporation is paying for the fence .. so who they hire to build it is their business.

There is absolutely NO evidence that Mr. Del Gallo pressured any boards or commissions in regard to
this matter.

Keeping a major employer like the Price Chopper warehouse doesn't stink for the town.

Face it...DelGallo destroyed the value of a whole neighborhood, while profiting off of the project, just more typical Rotterdam.  And we still have the moron cheerleaders that kiss the assess of these people.  How about you go door to door on Dolan Drive and tell them how grateful they should be for DelGallo's $100K wall he is building for the project he approved.

Remember what DelGallo said when approving the Delorenzo zoning change?   When the owners of the house that would be affected by the project asked FDG "what if you lived there” and FDG with his slurred response "I wouldn’t live there” and the audience responded with gasps and muffled laughter.

The guy lives in a castle on the mountian.  He is so out of touch and greedy, that he doesn't care how inappropriate it looks for a supervisor to profit off of a project that affects the home values of teh residents he was elected to represent.

The proposal was first made BEFORE Mr. Del Gallo became Supervisor .. actually .. even before he decided
to run.   Most likely, the project would have been approved if the GOP had won the election in 2009.

The warehouse was there long before Dolan Drive was even built.   I don't know what the folks who bought
the houses there thought that facility was.    Even in the 1960's when it (Golub warehouse) was smaller and Dolan Drive was being built  --- even a little child like I was at the time recognized that those buildings were
warehouses with big trucks coming and going from them.

Would FDG been rewarded the fence contract if he were not the supervisor?  That is the million dollar question.

There needs to be laws on the books that require full disclosure of elected officials (even attorneys) from issues like this that arise. It would eliminate the questions and motives 'after the fact'.

Mr. Del Gallo does exceptionally good work .. so .. I would say  YES .. he would have gotten the contract
based on the quality of his work and his good reputation.

First - Neil Golub is the head of the Golub Corporation and is held accountable for all actions taken by said corporation, as he is the main person in charge of said decision.

Second - They can hire who they want to hire, when they're spending their own money, not taxpayer money.  This may have been an example of them spending money of their own, but they get plenty of taxpayer money when they don't have to pay taxes or "rent" which would then be turned over to the government as taxes.

Third - A tax exemption that I get from the state or federal government is exactly that, a tax break.  That would be something that is eligible to every single person who lives in the said state or federation.  What is detestable is when people are considered "special" and get extra breaks that every other person / entity is not eligible, much of which is going to Golub in this county.  A "tax break" that only specific companies are allowed to get that other people couldn't dream of, much less even know that there is a way to apply for the said "tax break" is a fully different situation, unless you can give me the link to the forms that I can fill out to request that I can have property that has no taxes.  So, whether you have tax exemptions or not, maybe you should be looked into as much as myself, but those who get the secial "tax breaks" really need an additional "looking into."

Exactly...If I claim to have 10 dependants that I do not have when I file my taxes and get every penny I paid back in taxes, - guess what?  The government will be so quick to audit me to make sure they get every penny the government believes is rightfully theirs.  It is the duty of our County legislators to oversee this shadowy quasi government called Metroplex.  If businesses are receiving property tax exemptions even though they have the means to pay, they should be scrutinized.  After all, as a taxpayer, the IRS is quick to scrutinize me if I make a false claim to avoid paying taxes.

You are correct Golub rents the office building not sure about the freezer
