"Senator Dodd's reversal on this issue is both astonishing and alarming," the National Republican Senatorial Campaign said in a written statement. "Contrary to his statements and denials over the last 24 hours, Senator Dodd has now admitted that he and his staff did in fact change the language in the stimulus bill to include a loophole for AIG executive bonuses."
The group added that Dodd had "misled voters and equivocated on his statements ."
So, who is acting against the interests of the American people? AIG or the Obama administration?

This is a trick question, isn't it? Can we vote for "all of the above"? Dodd, Geitner, Pelosi, Reid, Rangel, Biden and Obama.
Remember the speeches "this is an emergency - we need to pass it now" - it doesn't matter that no person could possibly read the entire thing in the 6 hrs they had before the vote ... nobody could investigate every provision in the legislation, but it was mandatory that we pass it before the Presidents Day holiday ... had to be done, hell or high water.
At least 5/10 (probably closer to 6/10) people on this forum voted for Obama - I think the more appropriate question should be, (to the tune of "can you hear me now") "are you happy now?" I haven't heard one person supportive of Obama or this administration in the past 2-3 weeks. Even the people I knew that were his staunchest supporters are now strangely quiet on the subject, hiding under their rocks. Where's all the people to defend "the annointed one" now?
I asked a friend today if he was still glad that he voted for obama. He kinda hemed and hawed for a time and then said, 'oh they are all crooks'.
He said that Bush started this whole bail out thing (which I agreed) but I reminded him that obama said that he would change the old ways of how things were being done in Washington and instead we got the same old, same old.

AIG has to give bonuses....it's the American way.....HOWEVER.....the senate and those in the 'palace of rule/law' have voted themselves a raise... interesting....you betcha......
so,,,,who wants a government job and who wants a private sector job.....who wants to speak for themselves and who wants a union boss to speak for them
