Worst then the parade during the feed they fed old tape playbacks of City Council meetings so much so that it was hard to tell which was the live meeting and what was being playback of a previous meeting. It was so bad the Explorer Scouts put a title up saying "OSM out of control"
This is how it used to be when SACC-TV was involved. The signal from the City Council chambers never even got got to the SACC-TV studios. They were directly fed into the TW transmission lines this being done partially so that there would not be an appearance of possible influence by the SACC-TV facility. This I learned after talking with Gary Delain in 1994.
Now it appears that the signal possibly routes through the OSM facility and look how much control P. Morris now has. He threatened to affect programing until he got the 100K looks like he's started. The problem also was happening on the "Schenectady Today" show which he threatened to pull so hmm interesting that there were problems with that too.
I heard that P. Morris is against having a board of directors, membership or anything that allows the public to have a say in how the "Public" access channel is run. Doesn't seem right. If TW is taking a PEG fee from my bill I should have the right to have some say in the operations of Public Access.
OSM is now a P. Morris production...a one man show.
After seeing what happened yesterday the writing is on the wall. I want SACC-TV with a board of directors and membership involvement in Public Access TV. To do otherwise is so wrong.
It is like watching TV in 1981 in the USSR. That is a dreamworld for democraps. They want us to be under a dictatorship and they prove it by the way they tamper with the meeting tapes ALL THE TIME!
This was no accident. The DEMS have wanted these meetings pulled from TV-16 for years. The crawl "OSM is out of control" from the camera crew said it all. Mercury Morris is out of control and TV-16 must be returned to the community, not DEM party hacks. Of course, the Gazetto fails to report on this debacle.
They are Pravda, what do you expect. At least a few of us know what is in their hearts.
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
Cel makes great points except that SACC-TV was also taken over by DEM hacks. TW should immediately hold this fee in escrow account.
Deprive Mercury Morris from a new honey pot and see how fast it is returned to the community. Not the DEM controlled SACC board. Schenectady Today and the City Council meetings were the only programs worth watching. Now Mercury Morris has destroyed even that. Gary Delain saw what was coming that's why he was so disgusted.
Benny: Just a thought. I believe that with the new changeover of officers at SACC-TV we will see things change considerably. Have to give them a chance. They took the approach to not freely give the money to P Morris which is a good sign of change.
I know McCarthy is livid that the SACC-TV board made the decision it did and word has it he wants to proceed with a law suit. Not sure how many on the City Council are behind him. Time will tell.
I wrote to Mayor Stratton... in reply I got a phone call from Chuck Horne at the city hall clerks office.
This is how it was explained to me.
The signal path has not changed. It is still a direct path patched from city hall to the Time Warner transmission system. Somewhere in the path though is a series of switches if the signal is lost or a voltage loss is sensed then the signal sent down the lines is replaced with another known good source.
This is how it appears... the signal drops out from city hall. A predetermined test signal is inserted until the switch then activates and reverts to the OSM facility which had the backup programing running.
I think there is a fault in this setup. I rather not have OSM playback previous cc meeting shows but just have the color bars presented. By being able to switch to OSM as a result of an outage it still leaves the appearance of OSM to circumvent programing from the live feed but this may have always been setup to do this and we just never took it so seriously. I think the change over to OSM and the loss of a board of directors and membership investments in the Public Access channel leaves me questioning more then ever before. I still think it is wrong that the OSM is a one man show.
Folks this is what I was told. Only someone who works in the TW system could verify the accuracy of this explanation and keep in mind there is always room for me to have misunderstood Mr. Horne.
Per Mr Horne arrangements have been made to have Time Warner troubleshoot the system to determine the exact cause of the problem and fix it.
When did this problem start? Before or after the 'take over'?

The excuse makes no sense. If the feed was direct to TW why did it keep switching to old tapes of the Scotia Parade and the old council meeting? Because the feed was going (according to the cameramen) to Proctor's/OSM studios where no one was in the booth. The computer went haywire and no one was at the board to correct it.
Morris will not even admit a mistake happened. And if a mistake did happen it was someone elses fault? This is so typical of the "leaders" around here. As I have stated from the beginning, Proctor's cannot run this station. Proctor's should not be running the County visitors center. Proctor's is a financial dark star that is sucking money from your cable bill, the State and Metrograft sales taxes. Run the theater on a paying basis and increase your PILOT.
GLENVILLE Cable setup limits gov’t shows Meetings not on proper channel BY MICHAEL GOOT Gazette Reporter
Town Board meetings will continue to be shown on Schenectady’s public access channel but won’t be on the new government channel until a problem with its signal is resolved. The problem stems from an arrangement years ago with Time Warner Cable, where Glenville’s cable feed originated from Saratoga. In April, Open Stage Media took over Schenectady’s public access operations and now there are three separate channels — one for public access, one of education access and one for government access. However, Glenville’s residents cannot see the Schenectady County government programming but are seeing programs from Saratoga, according to Glenville Supervisor Chris Koetzle. “Either Open Stage Media or Time Warner needs to have us switched over so we can show our government programming as well,” he said. Koetzle added that Open Stage Media officials have assured him that taped coverage of Glenville Town Board meetings will be shown on public access Channel 16 as part of a rotation. However, Glenville has no control over when it airs. “Will it be at 3 o’clock in the morning? Quite possible,” he said. “I haven’t seen us played since this whole switch has taken over. I have seen the [Schenectady] County Legislature on public access a couple of times,” he added. Koetzle said he doesn’t know what it would cost to move the transmission signal so the meetings can be back on the government channel. “That public access channel is going to get crowded and we need to move to the government channel with all the rest of the Schenectady County governments. Our position is somebody needs to pay for it, but it should not be the town of Glenville or its taxpayers.” ..................>>>>...................>>>>...................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r00902&AppName=1
Love the headline the Glenville meetings are not being shown. But keep your cable fee coming to Mercury Morris and the morons at OSM. Does the Gazetto still support this fee grab? Only in Schenectady County.
I thought Morris said he would improve coverage?-lol. City meetings unwatchable, Glenville meetings gone, Frank Duci Show yanked, Schenectady Today on the ropes. But don't fret. Mercury Morris will put on more communist NPR programs and call it "arts". Nobody will say nuthin.
Didn't they think about this and prepare ahead of time? I would have thought that all of these 'so called issues' would have been resolved BEFORE the switch. No?
