This is just another example of how dysfunctional and dangerous a one party rule can be. There are no checks and balances. Since there are no reps alive in schenectady county, hopefully people like Pat Zollinger will emerge and win!

They didn't like the growing number of protesters at the rail so that took over the production. Make it unwatchable, cheapen the production value, show ceiling shots and nobody will watch.

Voila-"problem" solved. They don't want you to watch the sausage making.

According to Friday's Gazetto, a couple sheeple have noticed "no difference" in City Council coverage with pathetic OSM/Mercury Morris. Who did they interview?

Good job OSM with ceiling shots, one camera rapid panning and shaking shooting! Anyone who has not noticed a major deterioration is kidding themselves. Even council members have complained about the lousy production. That's the whole purpose make these meetings unwatchable. OSM/Mercury Morris have succeeded. Nice attempt in masking the public anger with the abrupt axing of the Explorer Troop that covered these proceedings for decades.

Video crew comes up short
Marv Cermak

A couple of months ago, city officials fired the veteran production crew that used to televise all Schenectady City Council meetings.

John Harnden, a philanthropist who sunk $12,000 into video equipment, had been overseeing broadcasts for about a quarter-century. He and his crew were replaced by city-hired workers from Open Stage Media, an offshoot of Proctors.

Well, to make a short story shorter, the new operation's performance has been bush league compared to the old. The substandard performances hit a new low last week. Several folks I know trying to watch the council meeting complained about inaudible sound and an awfully poor quality picture.

I can personally attest to comments of the grumbling viewers because I watched the meeting at home for a while before going to the City Hall session.

One woman brought a tape of the meeting to Mayor Brian U. Stratton's office the next day as a form of complaint. That was a waste of time because he's part of the gang that fired Harnden and company.

It's old, corny, trite, hackneyed and every other bromide that fits, but nothing says it better than, "If it ain't broke ...............................http://www.timesunion.com/local/article/Back-when-Iran-was-an-ally-Alco-helped-687592.php#page-2"

Can Stratton and his pathetic rubber stamps do anything right? It's bad enough what doesn't go on but now it is totally watchable. If you enjoy shots of ceilings and empty chairs you might enjoy the OSM "coverage". The audio is beyond weak. Hear no evil, speak no evil? But the horrible Gazetto has declared "It is Good"!

But then again there is a method to the madness. If it is unwatchable than fewer sheeple will view the DEM sausage making. This cuts the legs out of the growing number of gadfly's trying to speak the truth.

An idiot's solution: Put more democraps into office to further their conspiracy (along with the copservatives) to have a local and state dictatorship.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

SCHENECTADY
Improvements to public TV ahead

BY KATHLEEN MOORE Gazette Reporter

New broadcasting equipment has finally started to trickle into City Hall, five months after the City Council abruptly fired its videographers.
That will put an end to haphazard production this year, which was criticized both by the former videographers — who took their sound and video equipment with them — and the current technicians, who filled in with whatever equipment they could fi nd. They said that without proper gear, they were just “winging it” at every meeting.
Open Stage Media, which presents the broadcasts, is also adding a new government program. The Schenectady school board meetings are now being broadcast for the fi rst time.
Board President Cathy Lewis spearheaded that change.
“I think it’s an important service for the public,” she said. “It lends to the transparency and accountability.”
City Council President Gary McCarthy is eager to start using the council’s new cameras to start his education campaign.
He’s trying to get department heads in front of the cameras to record infomercials on how to recycle, get a building permit and pay for dog licenses, among other basic topics. His goal is to highlight changes — such as the possible change to simpler recycling rules — that would save the city money if everyone followed suit.
But recording the infomercials has turned out to be more complicated than it sounds. ..................>>>>................................>>>>....................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01304&AppName=1

So how much is this costing the already overburdened schenectady county taxpayers?

Sales tax revenues are down.
Most Metroplex businesses are 'exempt from taxes'.
So where else can and do they get the money?
THE OVER BURDENED SCHENECTADY COUNTY TAXPAYERS!!

More unnecessary expenses. The Explorer unit donated equipment and was dumped by the all DEM rubber stamps and Mercury Morris. Now Cathy Lewis is "spearheading improvements"? Give us a break. Nobody cares about this crappy station. More happy talk from the Gazetto.

Let Ms. Lewis worry about the SCSD budget which is dangerously unbalanced. Where are your budget cuts? Nothing-nada-a payoff that was not properly disclosed. If she keep her dithering up the City sheeple will face a double whammy with a 15% school tax increase.

Before the Proctor's takeover, Glenville residents had their government channel with their meetings shown. Then in July 2010, Glenville had problems with the Proctor's takeover. Now Proctors wants Glenville to pay? Proctor's gets a $100,000 federal grant for their hand in this. My advice to the non-profit Proctors...STOP TAKING TAXPAYER MONEY!!!

This is just more proof that Proctors can't stay afloat without taking more and more of the taxpayers money.

Right on AND start paying a PILOT to both the County and City. Sickening that Boys and Girls Club can pay a PILOT but Mercury Morris/OSM/Proctor's still absolutely refuses to. Make it 3 PILOTS one for Key Bank, one for Proctor's and one for the empty arcade. You talk to him about it and he gets violent. Throw the taxpayers a bone. We have dumped millions to keep you afloat. Hand is one thing. He has his whole body in the honey pot.
