First published in print: Friday, March 13, 2009 ROTTERDAM — Town Republicans have endorsed a slate of candidates that features many familiar names.
Topping the ticket is Steven Tommasone, who is seeking another term as town supervisor. Incumbent Town Board member Joseph Signore will vie for another term on the board. He will be joined by newcomer Stanley Marchinkowski and soon-to-be-ex-Schenectady County Legislator Joseph Suhrada. Rounding out the GOP ticket are James Longo and Kenneth Litz for highway superintendent and town justice, respectively.
The full GOP committee unanimously voted in favor of the slate.
"This is an incredibly successful and experienced group of individuals," said Town GOP Chairman Gerard Parisi. ''We are proud to offer them for elected office in our town."
Marchinkowski was selected to fill the recently vacated Town Board seat and his name will also be submitted to the governing body to fill out the unexpired term.
Nobody new, huh? Just the same ole' same ole'? I would have liked to hear of someone with new fresh ideas instead of recycled politicians. It appears that either no one new 'applied' or the reps refused.

I know for a fact that at least 2 "new" people applied and were not chosen.

That's too bad. This seems to be the pattern with all the political parties. It is just the same good ole' boys/girls with the same ideas and visions that just get recycled over and over and goes no where.

If you were, that's great news for the rest of us! Run anyway, and in your campaign literature, just say "I was rejected by the political powers that be because I think and act for myself" - you'll win in a landslide!

EXACTLY! Primary for the line.

Glad you have a sense of humor. This "rejection" is a feather in your cap. You are for the oppressed taxpayers not any party bosses. God bless you and give you strength to fight the status quo idiots from all sides.
Any voter is an idiot if they think government is currently running efficiently. Primary for the REP line-create your own line-and you will win.
I will also be offering my support for Michael if he chooses to take the plunge. I personally think he would be a breath of fresh air in this stagnet political arena.

Not I. I'm a registered blank anyway. But I, along with the other blanks will support the best candidate. One that will 'really' be the voice of the taxpayers.
