Gillen should forget Job Lot and get grocer for city’s north side

“You can’t have a community littered with empty storefronts, and we don’t anymore.” This is a quote [from Metroplex President Ray Gillen] that The Daily Gazette printed Feb. 20, referring to a recent announcement that Ocean State Job Lot in Crosstown Plaza will be expanding its store so a recently shut-down drugstore doesn’t lie vacant. As a lifetime resident of Schenectady, this ticks me off.
I live on the northern end of the city, near Ellis Hospital, a pretty highly populated area. This April marks the third year since Price Chopper closed its doors in Sheridan Plaza — virtually the only shopping center within a few miles. This community is very close and consists of many elderly folks without mobility. Closing an anchor store and leaving it closed for three years is irresponsible!
Mr. Metroplex, quit caring about the commuters that drive through our city and don’t even shop here. I understand the Crosstown is a major artery for traffic, but how many really stop? Quit trying to impress the people who don’t care about our city, it’s pointless. Instead, care about the residents in northern Schenectady, who’ve been left helpless and forced to spend time and money they don’t have just to go to a market. It’s not just a little shopping trip anymore for these folks, it’s a big inconvenience just to survive.
So, Mr. Metroplex, stop what you’re doing and take a second. Sheridan Plaza has so much to offer, just take some time and listen to the people; they’ll tell you what they want!

"You can't have a community littered with empty storefronts and we don't anymore"! Stated Death Ray. The Gazetto prints this complete lie with no comment. Take another look at Crane St, Eastern Avenue, State Street, Broadway, even Upper Union St. So outrageous and nobody {except here} says nuthin.

To Northside Krats: stop waiting for your idiotic "working together team" to do anything. Except raise your taxes. Horrible Metrograft took over St James Square in Niskayuna-What happened? Even more empty store fronts. Socialism is never the answer. Higher taxes are never the solution. Krats never create jobs. Wake up-35 years of straight Krat rule has brought a once proud City to ruin.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

a generation did this.......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
