ROTTERDAM
Planning board to change guard
Denny likely successor to former chairman Yuille

For the first time in five years, Tom Yuille grabbed a seat in the audience at the Rotterdam Planning Commission meeting.
The former commission chairman’s term on the board expired in June and he was aware he wouldn’t get reappointed. He served on an interim basis to finish out 2008.
But Yuille was so accustomed to attending the bimonthly meetings, he decided to show up Tuesday as a spectator.
“It’s interesting to see it from this side,” he remarked after the meeting.
Also in the audience was former town laborer John “ Jack” Denny III, who is the likely candidate to take over Yuille’s spot on the comission. Members of the Town Board are expected to appoint Denny to the board either during their agenda meeting this evening or their regular meeting Wednesday.
“I want to continue to be involved with the town,” said Denny, who retired last year after working nearly 22 years with the town’s sewer and water maintenance department.
Yuille was appointed chairman of the commission in January 2003, four months after the death of former chairman Dalton “Duff” Bambury. His appointment as chairman was roundly supported by the Town Board, but stirred grumbles from then-Councilman Steve Tommasone, who questioned why a more experienced member of the commission wasn’t stepping forward.
Yuille served as chairman until Tommasone was elected supervisor in 2005. He was then replaced by Chairman Lawrence DiLallo.
Tommasone said Denny was slated for the position because of his insight into the infrastructure of the town. He said Denny’s experience would complement the other commission members.
Denny spurred a Democratic primary during an unsuccessful run for Town Board in 2007. Though he lost the bid for the nomination, he was endorsed by the town’s Republican Committee and appeared on the GOP ticket during the general election. He lost to Republican Michael Della Villa and Democrat John Silva.

JoAnn, really?  I mean really?  Granted, Sal is crazy, however; even you can't deny that the "Denny's of Rotterdam" are the most corrupt & yes, crooked, people around.

I meant taking the other off illegally and putting another on who will do whatever Stevie wants them to do. I dont matter who but it was crooked to take Yule off over there when he had a spot on there already. Yule should sue for civil rights over the lost job
