Old Chicago restaurant closes

The Old Chicago Restaurant on Wolf Road has closed.

The restaurant, which served Chicago-style pizza and also had an arcade and entertainment center for children called iPlay, had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in June.

Owner Donald Cepiel Sr. said the restaurant was closed Sunday. It opened in September 2007 and employed 70 full- and part-time workers.

“Closing was an extremely difficult decision,”" Cepiel said in a statement. “The management and employees were very dedicated and worked tirelessly to provide a unique dining experience for our guests.”

Cepiel, a longtime local restaurateur, is principal of Midon Corp., which formerly operated Boston Chicken and Burger King franchises in the Capital Region.

Now what am I gonna do??? I'll miss it....but I could really tell the populace is decreasing in visiting these places......

70 employees? Surprised they made it this long. Still waiting for the Metrograft announcement of Parisi's Steakhouse closure Downtown Schenectady last Nov. 1st. By the A&DD "arts and drunk district" and collapsing KRAT/TV-16.

Yeah, I was over there the other day and saw that they were closed.  The building's starting to look like the early stages of...oh...I don't know, Curry Road Shopping Plaza, circa 1988.
