The reason Suhrah-rah probably doesnt care is that Godloseski barks up the wrong tree again. Majecka makes mistake, loses his job, the repercussions are still being felt. Nothing Suhrah-rah or Godloseski or Lizzardi could do. Voters aren't dumb enough to blame any of them for a screw up coming from Macejka. If anyone gets blame it is Steve Tommasone for bad communication skills since he didn't articulate why he did not reappoint John M. Of course I imagine there would be a lawsuit, DUH! LOL

GB-

Stay tuned.  I am told people are circling the wagons and it ain't around the assessor who left over a year ago.
There is intel out there suggesting a big time cover up and set up.  Stick a fork in the local Republicans in Rott.
Don't know if the rumors are true but I've heard the Feds have been alerted once again that the repubs are
playing big time politics in the assessor's office ala the Signore admin.  Maybe they should dust off that old John McIssaaac to clean up for the Craig Surprise, Surprise, Surprise mess. People in the know are content to wait and see.

Ever see a bunch of stumbling, bumbling pols screw up an office the way the Rotterdam Repubs have screwed up the Rott assessor's office?  Does it get any better than this?  Hmmmmm never thought we'd hear from the FBI   again did ya Steve?  Oh by the way who manages the computer system at Town Hall?  Just askin....

You have got to be kidding me, right? I told you before to get out from under that disgruntled, public employee, conservative rock you live under! I never heard such obsertaty! Have you, or the likes of you, checked out the City Council or the County legislature or the Metroplex lately? How about the corruption in the SPD? And you ACTUALLY think that for one minute that the FBI is concerned with little Rotterdam's assessment? OMG!

Yup, you are correct-o!! The dems have done such a SPECTACULAR job at the state, city and county level, that we should have the FBI come in to Rotterdam, kick out the reps and put in the dems. Hey, perhaps we could have 'no change' as our next supervisor, Mr.M back as assessor, Judy D as the head of Parks and Recreation, B.Cookie could negotiate all union contracts, John P. could be the comptroller, Diane M could be the spokesperson and perhaps Mr. Constantino could be appointed to the school board! Now that's a ticket for ya!

And to think that people like you actually pro-create, vote and walk among us!!!!

Ok, here is some advice from a voter. The Democratic campaign needs to be more than "there are FBI investigations going on in Rotterdam and they are gonna' arrest the Republicans so you better vote Democrat."

YOU PEOPLE TRIED THAT FOR YEARS AND STILL- THE ONLY GUY EVER TO GO UP THE RIVER WAS... JAMES CONSTANTINO ( D )

ever....

EVER....

EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You need to actually do something other than force reval, higher spending and higher taxes on the home owners. A whispering campaign that "the "feds" are looking at all the republicans and will soon lock them up" is not going to get you into office! I mean it. James Constantino was carrying on crookedly for YEARS with his mistress in a powerful position, and PEOPLE DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR IT! It took 15 years for them to vote him out when there was REAL corruption! Now you want people to fantasize that there is corruption and you expect that will get you into office??? Puuuuuuuuu-LEEEEEEEZ!!!!!!!

I guess congratulations are in order Biaggio. I am assuming that you left Schenectady County all together. I do have a personal question for you. Did it take a long time to sell your house? We are thinking of putting my mom's house up for sale.

Please continue to visit us here and let us know how you are doing in comparison.

The rumor is that Bill Cooke has been out trying to get the FBI to investigate the town, but so far all he has as evidence of wrongdoing is a campaign flyer he mailed out last year. Anyone else hear about his quest to have the guy that defeated him arrested?

Now that would be political suicide for Bill Cookie and the dems. And shadow is absolutely correct....desperate people do desperate things! That would be one pathetic move if it is true!

As a side note, perhaps the conservs will be helping Mr. Cookies since they endorsed him (and lost)....IF THIS IS TRUE!. IMHO

PREVIOUS ROTTERDAM ASSESSOR SAYS DEFICIT NOT HIS MISTAKE

Posted on: 12/30/08

Former Rotterdam Town Assessor John Macejka said an assessment error in 2007 that resulted in a $1.4 million deficit was not his fault, as some town officials have claimed.

“The town comptroller and county finance office were aware of totals being off,” said Macejka. “It wasn’t a mistake that someone just uncovered last week or four hours before they voted on the tax levy.”

Following the county’s budget vote in late December, current Town Assessor Craig Surprise pointed to numbers provided by Macejka in 2007 as the reason for the levy.

“John Macejka underestimated what it was that he gave to the county, and that work was dated November of 2007,” said Surprise.

Macejka said a number of county and state officials, as well as Rotterdam Supervisor Steve Tommasone, knew about the incorrect values soon after they were discovered.

Macejka also said, at the time, everyone agreed that the town would make up for the mistake in the next year.  Therefore, he said, the one-time tax increase was no surprise.

Tommasone said he doesn’t know how the mistake happened, but he is ready for the town and county to move forward.

“I’ll let the people decide for themselves what they think happened,” Tommasone wrote in an e-mail. “I want to believe there was an honest mistake made, but it’s corrected now.”

Taxpayers will have to make up for the assessment error with a one-time increase this year of between $125 to $130 for a typical home assessed at $150,000. The tax was approved at the Schenectady County Legislature’s Monday, Dec. 22, budget meeting.

The error came about as the town was completing its revaluation for the first time in 50 years. The number submitted to the county tax roles in 2007 came in under the final assessed value of the town, leading to the deficit.

In its 2007 assessment, the town went from a value of about $78 million to about $2.8 billion. With such  large numbers, said George Davidson, Schenectady County commissioner of finance, a mistake could easily have been made.

Rotterdam resident and former town board member Robert Godlewski said news of the deficit came to light in late November or early December when he came across a Schenectady County resolution about it when he was attending a legislative meeting regarding another issue.

“The thing that caught my eye was the Town of Rotterdam’s apportionment was way up, so I did what any taxpayer would do …  I was trying to understand the numbers,” said Godlewski.

He said that he doesn’t know how...................http://spotlightnews.com/spotlightnews/article.php?article_id=tA1230663210t495a6e2a45104

Bob no change why didn't you object while you were at the county meeting when they raised our taxes by 9%? Answer because the Dems who you need for your next election try for the county Legislature sponsored it and you only go one way and that's against the Repubs under the guise of helping the taxpayer.

This guy will appear 3 times in 4 years as a candidate and last time he ran a county race he had all (lost one of them to the write in Angelo Santabarbara) the lines, and finished LAST! The republicans will be jumping for joy if he is the cannon fodder!!!

I can't believe the democrats are that desperate. He lost actually 2 out of three elections in 2 years and will get his fourth loss next year. Another Bill Cooke in the making. Holy cow.
