The worst part of Death Ray's reply was the phony "$28 million in direct payments to towns" since Metrograft was created. As if he created this money out of thin air. These payments were from the increased sales tax levied on every purchase in this County. Business killing, chasing away customers. It's the sheeple's money and another direct payment should be made to the City replacing this horrible "authority".. Metrograft has created nothing. There has been a job loss in this County. Sales Tax revenues are down. Funny how the County Development Planner {also Death Ray} didn't mention the closure of Super Steel under his watch. No mention of the closure of Parisi's Steakhouse? These Krats continue to pat themselves on the backs, giving each other awards, for raping the taxpayer. On the "great" work on State Street; the Big Hose remains closed, Proctor's continues to lose money, The Cigar Shoppe has changed ownership. Apertitivo is the worst restaurant of that owner. Anyone who thinks this is some kind of success needs to walk on lower State below Erie Blvd. Walk during the day if you dare. Complete devastation including the infamous Gillen's Gutch where the Robinson Square retail center was to be built. |

Day 255: One report released today. Looks like no gift for Schenectady County taxpayers this year. Will the release of the report occur before year end or will it carry a 2009 date? The delay in releasing the results of the audit is certainly not a testament to government efficiency. http://osc.state.ny.us/audits/allaudits/093009/08s110.htm

Day 264: No updates to the list of published audit reports to the NYS Comptrollers in over 1 week. Are the results of the audit being withheld from the public or has the report not yet been finalized? Does anyone in a position of government authority or the media care about accountability and transparency in public authorities? Seemingly, not. |

Shadow,
I don't know how one would submit a FOIL request for a document that is not known to exist. I suppose that if such a request was submitted and the document did not exist, you would get back a response to that effect.
Good suggestion though! ... I will prepare a request in the coming days. |

I'm beginning to think that the State Comptrollers Office is either incompetent or is deliberately hiding the Metroplex results as the audit should have been completed by now. It makes one wonder what they're trying to cover up IMHO? |

Day 272: No updates to the list of released audit reports since Jan. 6th. The Comptroller's office is losing credibility and favor with the public with each day that passes without the release of the Metroplex audit report.
At this point I expect that the report, if released, will be a "white wash" of the operations and fiscal management of the public authority. If issues had been identified that need to be addressed, it would be irresponsible of the Comptroller not to release the recommendations in a timely fashion.
My confidence in the integrity, commitment, and wisdom of our elected "leaders" at evey level of government wanes with each passing day.
The media, that are supposed to be advocates for the people score no better as all have turned their backs to the Metroplex audit and the status of several failed projects, most notably the Big Hoax. What was the latest date that Mr. Gillen gave to CBS6 for the projected business opening? "Finishing touches" ... my ars. |

It's going to be another cover-up because they can't afford to tell the truth as it would put the whole Democratic machine in Schenectady County in a very bad light IMHO. |
