Sal as usual you missed the point, both Clinton and Edwards lied, Clinton under oath about the affairs. It was never about the affair it was because they both lied about it.

Whether it's their private life or not, the fact of the matter is that just as you weigh in Palin's daughter having a child (or her son having Down Syndrome) when you consider who you're voting for, Sal, others do the same with extra-marital affairs.  Is it "right?"  I'm not sure that's for me, or any of us, to decide.  However, as human beings, I can understand how we would weigh personal decision-making into our choice for elected office, ESPECIALLY when those running LIE about it.

I agree to a point. But I think this has gotten way out of control. It has gone beyond politics. It seems that all media outlets are taking lessons from the Enquirer. Let me remind you that ALL of these media outlets are vying for viewership. It's is all about economics ($$$$) and sponsorship for them. And sadly, the more smut and mudslinging the news outlets put out there, the more the people love it and watch it. Which in return makes the news outlets rich! It all boils down to economics.

The lieing is equally troubling but for me....it is about the affair.  It is a testament to ones character.  If a person can't be true to their family how can they be true to themselves and their constituents?  They do the deed, get caught, and lie like a bunch of 11 year olds.  I don't want to be represented by someone like that, regardless of political party or gender.

Admirable Rene...but not realistic. Let's remember that this generation is the left over hippies from the 60's. Remember the slogans? "IF IT FEELS GOOD DO IT?" "PEACE" "MAKE LOVE NOT WAR". Come on...their role models were the Beatles, Led Zepplin etc... for God's sake! So THIS is the character attributes we are reaping today. Were we expecting Mother Theresa to evolve out of that generation? We reap what we sow.

So don't expect anything wonderful from this present generation cause we'll only be setting ourselves up for disappointment. The only thing left to do is educate and teach the next generation coming up to hopefully change things. (that's if this country still has time)

AGAIN this here is a private matter of a private man so why dont you cut the guy some slack sir.

I think his problem was probably his slack---he needed to 'fix it' or so he thought......although I agree with your statement of it being
a private matter.....he knew what he was getting into when he signed on for the job of a politician/husband,,,he needs to suck it up....
