Schenectady County ranked third for best wages Updated: 04/06/2008 By: Web Staff
SCHENECTADY COUNTY, N.Y. – There is some good news for the Electric City. According to National Department of Labor Statistics released this week, Schenectady County is ranked third in New York, among upstate counties, for weekly wage rates.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics report shows that Schenectady County ranked just behind Albany and Steuben counties. The average weekly gross wage in Schenectady County for the second quarter of 2007 was $846, which is $26 above the national average.
And people are seeing the opportunities that county has to offer, because it is the second fastest growing county in the Capital District.

Are these people actually employed IN Schenectady County? Or do they work elsewhere and reside in the county?

That amounts to an annual income per person of $43,992.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
