Quoted from CICERO

The police are the backbone of the community.  If some formalities are overlooked to get the old Ferris's up and running again, so be it.  It's the least the residents can do for one of Rotterdam's boys in blue.

There is no such thing as special treatment of Rotterdam's officers.  Rotterdamians should be honored to have one of their finest opening an establishment in the town.  Even if it's not 100% legit.  Have a heart.

What nerve to come on this site and engage in such a slanderous post about one of Rotterdam's brave police officers.  Very disrespectful.

Everyone is entitled to there opinion.........But   cicero   come on  who are you kidding

B Gage Quote - "There is no such thing as special treatment of Rotterdam's officers". Really? Again, Pull your head out of the sand. I have not only lived in this Town for over 35 years and have served in community organizations for 25+ years. I also have an immediate family member who was a Rotterdam Police officer.

Your barking up the wrong tree my friend. Post again when you can see the forest through the trees.

PS. No accusations...just observations...Permits have to be posted during major renovations. There is none posted (Message sent is message received).

I have always liked the way our business community, especially some food establishments, take care of our 'boys in blue' who give them their food for FREE!

Not a bit. My point was how Rotterdam's boys in blue are treated over and above. Not only do residents pay for their wages and health care and retirement benefits, they continue to give, even at the food counters. Now that is what I call a community supporting their law enforcement. Wouldn't you agree?

I think I touched a nerve. The sad thing is that you don't have the ability to respect other people's opinions. Do you really think that some law enforcement officals don't take advantage of their position of authority?

Case in point: Police officers in Schenectady have been arrested, tried and sentenced to jail time for "abusing the badge".  Rotterdam is not immune to this type of behavior (Do you recall the pearl handle pistol grips case?).

Dude, Take off the rose colored glasses!

Case closed.

First, we don't have to look that far,(meaning the Gazette) to know that there is certainly 'abuse of the badge'. However, I don't believe that all cops are bad. But BGAGE, you must realize that people are a bit reluctant today to trust in all law enforcement.

However, I must admit that Mstang is stating 'observations' and 'hear-say' and not 'facts'.
