Woman to appear on Montel's show Niskayuna resident is finalist for grant for work on birthmarks, tumors Staff reports First published: Friday, February 15, 2008
NISKAYUNA -- Linda Rozell-Shannon of Niskayuna, one of five finalists for a $20,000 charitable grant recognizing her work as founder of the Vascular Birthmarks Foundation, will appear on "The Montel Williams Show," at 11 a.m. on Feb. 22 on WXXA Ch. 23.
Rozell-Shannon was selected from among thousands of nominees in the campaign that honors women across America who are working for positive change. After her daughter was diagnosed with a vascular tumor, Rozell-Shannon realized there were no standards of care for these vascular tumors and birthmarks. The foundation, which has opened clinics across the nation, has helped children and adults in the United States and around the world find treatment for hemangiomas, port wine stains and other vascular birthmarks. The award is sponsored by Charming Shoppes, a specialty apparel retailer and parent company of Lane Bryant, Fashion Bug, Catherines Plus Sizes and Petite Sophisticate.
