ROTTERDAM — The Schenectady East Rotary Club will sponsor its 7th annual Antique and Classic Car Show from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept 4, at the Mabee Historic Farm Site on Route 5S. The event is a Rotary fundraiser to benefit local community programs and services. Rain date is Monday, Sept. 5. Classics, hot rods, antiques, muscle cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome. Trophies will be presented for President’s Choice, Spectators Choice and 40 favorites. Only those pre-1990 are eligible for judging. All show cars must be on the fi eld by noon to be qualifi ed. Trophies will be presented at 3 p.m. Dash plates and a goodie bag will be given to the first 150 vehicles. Vendors are welcome at a cost of $25 per space. There will also be music, food and fun for the entire family. Cost for show cars is $8 for early registration or $10 the day of the event. MABEE PROGRAMS ROTTERDAM — Mabee Farm Historic Site, Route 5S, will offer the following two programs. The final concert of their annual summer concert series “Howlin’ at the Moon” will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday , at the Mabee Farm Historic Site. Red Haired Strangers will offer the showcase performance. Singer/ songwriters Nancy Walker and M. R. Poulopoulos will also perform. Admission is $2 per person. Beverages will be available. Applications are now being accepted for “Beginning Blacksmithing Class” that will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, and Sunday, Aug. 21. Resident blacksmith John Ackner will teach a variety of forging techniques and build your blacksmithing skills. Learn basic techniques making nails, S-hooks and learn how to care for a forge and the equipment. The cost is $150 (includes materials). Minimum class size is 4. Material and tools will be provided. Rollarama Fund Raiser Rollarama Skating Center on Hamburg Street will be hosting a fundraiser for Devon LaPrade, who is suffering from cancer. The event will be held on Sunday, August 21, from 1-5pm. The admission cost is $10.00 and all admission proceeds will go directly to the LaPrade family to help cover Devon's medical expenses.
CRAFT FESTIVAL ROTTERDAM — The eighth annual Mabee Farm Arts & Crafts Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Mabee Farm Historic Site on Route 5S. The festival will feature arts and crafts including ceramics, fi ne art, jams, handwovens, candles, jewelry, fine arts, tole, photography, quilts, baskets, soaps, wood, artisan demonstrations and much more. CANCER HOPECLUB ROTTERDAM — American Cancer Society’s HopeClub on the Go will hold a grand opening of its new location at Berkshire Bank, 1925 Curry Road, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. American Cancer Society Hope-Club on The Go is an outreach program affi liated with HopeClub in Latham. It is designed to provide emotional and social support for people with cancer. Harvest Fest set at Rotterdam church ROTTERDAM — Trinity Reformed Church, 705 Curry Road, will hold its second annual Harvest Festival from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday. The festival will feature door prizes, Chinese auction, children’s activities, white elephant sale, handcrafted items and baked goods.
