TOASTMASTERS
    ROTTERDAM — Mohawk Toastmasters will meet at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday at the Rotterdam Senior Citizen’s Center at East Campbell and Hamburg Street.
    There will be a speech contest for members who wish to participate. The meeting is open to the public and anyone who is interested in improving their leadership and communication skills.

LIFEGUARD COURSE
    ROTTERDAM — The Rotterdam Boys & Girls Club will offer an American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday evenings starting on Wednesday, April 14,

BASKET MAKING
    ROTTERDAM JUNCTION — Keepers of the Circle, 1180 Main St., will have a basket making program, “Making the Tree Whole Again,” with instructor Bev Cornelius from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 8.
    The program was made possible with a grant from the Arts Center of the Capital Region and New York State Council of the Arts.

WATER SAFETY COURSE
    ROTTERDAM — The Boys and Girls Club, 721 Curry Road, is offering an American Red Cross water safety instructor course starting Wednesday, May 12.
    The course will be held each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. through June 9.
    The course is $205 per person.

MABEE FARM OPENING
    ROTTERDAM JUNCTION — The Mabee Farm Historic Site, 1080 Main St., opens for the season on Tuesday with operating hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and by appointment.
    The riverside complex features the oldest house in the Mohawk Valley, a 1705 Dutch-style stone house originally established as a homestead in the 1600s. There are also slave quarters, an inn, a 1760 dutch barn, a cemetery and other outbuildings.
    On Saturday, May 8, an exhibition of Industrial Revolution gadgets titled “Whatits” will open. The items from the site’s collections will be on display through Sept. 25.

RUMMAGE/CRAFT SALE
    ROTTERDAM JUNCTION — The Woestina PTO will hold a rummage sale/craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at the Woestina Elementary School, 1292 Main St.
    There will also be a raffl e with prizes as well as a 50/50. A chicken barbecue by Smokin’ Hogg’s BBQ will be available for purchase from 1 to 4 p.m. All proceeds will go to benefit the Woestina PTO.

ELKS CAR SHOW
    ROTTERDAM — The Rotterdam Elks will hold its 14th Annual Car, Truck, and Sport Compact Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 12, at the Old Kmart Plaza on Curry Road. Rain date is Sunday, June 13.
    Over 50 trophies will be awarded to show participants. Food and beverages will be available. Door prizes and raffles will be held, with a lucky show participant being awarded a top prize of a 32-inch HDTV. All proceeds will go to benefi t Cerebral Palsy. DUTCH OVEN CLASS
    ROTTERDAM JUNCTION — The Mabee Farm Historic Site, Route 5S, will hold a Dutch Oven Cooking class from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday with lunch at noon.
    Designed for students with little or no Dutch oven cooking experience, this class introduces the basic skills required to cook with Dutch ovens by preparing entrees, breads, vegetables, and dessert. Participants will dine on the homemade meals.

BUSINESS ASSOCIATION at 7 p.m. ROTTERDAM — The Rotterdam Business Association will meet Tuesday at Tops American Restaurant & Grill, 351 Duanesburg Road.
    Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner and a meeting at 7.
