My first 2008 prediction is that William Chapman, the Democratic candidate who was defeated in the November 2007 race for District 3 seat in the Schenectady County Legislature will be appointed to fill the seat of departing Legislator Michael Eidens.

I predict that in 2008 the Schenectady Metroplex Development Authority will approve and provide additional funding, with a large portion in the form of a grant, to the owner/developer of the Big House.  The rationale for the additional funding and the continued delays in opening the business will be that unforeseen complications in the renovations and the price increases of materials and labor during the lengthy  construction period necessitate greater "investement".

I predict that the New York State Office of the State Comptroller will announce the scheduling of an independent and comprehensive audit of the finances and the operations of the Schenectady Metroplex Development Authority.

I predict that the proposed raise for Rotterdam Town Board members will meet defeat by a vote of 3-2.

I predict that a new, independent "political" party will emerge in the Town of Rotterdam.

I predict that the Town of Rotterdam will fail to update, conduct public hearings on, and adopt a new Town Comprehensive Plan in 2008.

I predict the new town police vehicles, purchased via a bond we dont need(but is required by some state/fed law for accredidation), will be outfitted with the most technologically updated equipment that ties directly into the new FBI database---making Rotterdam and first of it's kind of Minority Report.......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Quoted from Shadow
I will bet that next year the raises for the Town Board will be included in the budget and the next time the issue of their raise comes up for a vote it will pass with flying colors.

Sounds like a prediction that could've come out of my mouth.
