This project should be eliminated to save some money for the city, it's going to cost the utility companies a ton of money to comply with this stupid scheme.

Why is it even needed there hasn't been any real traffic on Erie Blvd since GE moved all their jobs south to get cheaper labor and lower taxes. This is just another way to waste money that should be used to improve other areas in the city.

It is called - economic development -  you need to invest money to draw businesses to fill the gap left
when ALCO and GE cut those thousands of jobs.

A complete waste of over million dollars in City money. There still is heavy traffic entering/exiting the plant on Erie Blvd. The last thing needed is traffic calming/narrowing the road/bike path.

Another City park? They can't maintain the current number of parks. Mayor SOS and the rubber stamp council prove once again that they are all fiscally incompetent and must go.

It's called wasting tax dollars. Narrowing the road and making it impossible to turn does not help business. That's why the remaining businesses have all opposed this white elephant. Cutting taxes draws business. New curbs and traffic calming helps a developer.

WAAAA --WAAAA--WAAAAA  Whine -Whine -Whine ------- that is all the Perpetual Negativity Choir

They are against everything ... against progress ...

The only one crying is you over SS Savage's poll numbers. Everything we have posted for years is right. The DEMS that you cheer lead for are self destructing. Schenectady is a fiscal mess after 35 years of straight DEM rule. Good luck with that "working together" jive next year.

BTW, I guess Mayor SOS is not listening to you either. He wants to close the Bellevue firehouse. That's his new plan for "renaissance"? -lol-

This is not the time to spend taxpayer's monies on a street makeover. Not to mention that they are AGAIN not listening to the business owners in that area who will feel negatively impacted.

How did that end of Erie Blvd survive 40K+ employees back in the GE days?????? Who actually has 'what' to gain by this 'make over'?

Democrats have not run the County Legislature for 35 years  nor have they run the City of Schenectady for
35 years.

What do I have to do with the Bellevue firehouse ????

In your posts, you are either whining, crying, or lying.

This from the DEM insider that says SS Savage will win and that she has created 3,500 mythical jobs! Except County jobs are down 1,000 according to the US Census. Facts are funny things.

Speaking of crying you posted that you spoke with the Mayor about helping the "renaissance" in Mound Pleasant and Bellevue. Guess he ignored you like everyone else.

The federal governmet gave an $11 million grant fpr this project --- Not doing the project would not save
the city a penny --- and the money would have to go back to the federal government -- and they would just
spend it in some other municipality.

The Perpetual Negativity Choir whines about their perceived lack of progress in jobs creation and the plight of our county -- yet they then attack and ridicule EVERY reasonable effort that is being made to create jobs
and promote economic recovery.   They just don't make any sense.

If that 11 million was for infrastructure repair I'd be inclined to favor of it but for this project it's a waste of money. The sound in the background is the sound of 11 million dollars of the taxpayers money being flushed down the crapper when it should be used to lower the countries debt. There is no free lunch, it's our money that the government is wasting and it's time to put a stop to it. Remember in November.

The city cost would be over $1 million. Above any grant money. Of course there's no such thing as a free lunch. This would cost the City more because many businesses have stated there opposition and will leave Erie Blvd like Kem Cleaners and Trustco already have.

SOS and Death Ray don't know how to create a jobs. It's government, government, government just like that moron Blumenthal. Where did any of them study economic planning? They think that narrowing a major road, putting in a bike path (that no one will use), creating traffic jams and installing new curbs will somehow lead to job creation. Its the blind leading the blind and its all about greasing buddies. Nothing else matters.

My understanding is that the project DOES include improvements to the infrastructure.

The $11 million can NOT be used to lower local taxes --- the money was already approporated by the
federal government --- if it is not spend on this project in Schenectady it will go to another city someplace
else in the country.
