Get rid of the county legislature and form a board of supervisors!!! That is the only solution! Like I've said before, will we still have some issues? Perhaps! But again, at least we would have dumped one layer of government and save money and aggravation!

Marv Cermak-TU-7/14/09---Schenectady REPS are having their usual terrible time recruting candidates for the fall election. Things are so bad in the City they can't find a single candidate to oppose any DEMS. City Council DEMS McCarthy, Blanchard, Blanchfield all get a free ride!

Things are no better at the County level. There is no opposition to DEM Bob Carney who is running for his SIXTH TERM as District Attorney. DEM County Legislators Karen Johnson and Strawberry Fields also get a free pass.

Exactly why Mr Pastrami the Rotterdam Republicans are in trouble.  The people are happy with current leadership in the Nation, State, County, City.  Rotterdam has been traditionally Dem and the stench leftover from the Kirvin/Constantino days has dissipated greating IMHO.  Watch the board light up this November.  Tomassone and crew blew it big time by being way toooooooopolitical with appts, hirings, contact awards, assessment reduxs, etc.  Add in the Mertz factor, Sigsnore's back room dealings and nobodys like Fiorillo and Stan the Man, Joe Sue Rah Rah and his baggage and it adds up to change.  I smelled this when the Rotterdamians put in the prennial loser Tomassone to steer a sinking ship.

Paolino should have stayed on. Marco, Silva, Tony J all bailed but in spite of all that the new Democratic Party will perservere without them.  Mark my words!

I am not a fan of Tomasone, but you have got to be kidding me here right? Or are you just uninformed as to the political goings on with ALL political parties?  Or do you have, as we know you do, just have a personal motivated vendetta?

As far as being toooo political with appts, hiring, contract award and assessment redux, etc....as you have stated just look around. This BS has been going on as far back as the Jim C. days. And has continued with every single administration, whether dems or reps are in control.

That is why I am a blank. I will NOT support any of the greedy power driven parties...which encompass ALL of them. People aren't just sick and tired of this present admin...they HAVE BEEN sick and tired of the past decades of self serving politics.

So keep typing away puddycat at the taxpayer's expense...k?

LOL! State? If you're happy with the current unelected Gov you are the only one. Approval rate in the teens.

Nation? Check the new CBS poll-Obama approval tanked another 6% and the majority don't like his handling of the economy. Really funny that you think only the town needs change. It's hard to lose when you have no opposition-something needs changing- but it ain't just the town.

People are overjoyed in the City? ROTFLMAO!!

That's why a mob filled City Hall protesting their record re-assessments? Mayor Son of Sam has a new plan to reform the SPD-abolish it! Mark my words Son of Sam is finished if he dares run for a third term. Several City business leaders have had enough of his so-called "leadership". We will have a candidate no matter what. Son of Sam should go back to "working" for failure Gov Paterson. If he would hire him.

Mertz, littlefield and tommasone wrecked the party, Mertz and littlefield were babies about not getting the nod to run for Count Leg. So they created their WTF party and split up the party, this was the start of the train wreck and tommasone just didn’t have the balls to stand up to do anything on his own and do the right thing for the people. So we can really thank Mertz and littlefield for such a mess

Diane who? Well anyway back to the topic, I hope someday the republican party can get back to a unified group that would allow our views to be represented equally among the different parties

Back to the issue at hand, I believe that it was Mertz, Littlefield and Tommasone and let’s throw in this Diane lady that Mobile thinks I am, for this mess created within the Republican party. I still can't believe Littlefield and Mertz (bumblethru) has the audacity to blog on this site after screwing their own party by creating that WTF party because they weren't given the go ahead to run for County Leg. Talk about big babies, rather than support the people running they created that WTF party to hurt their own, good job, I hope you are proud.
