I ran into some of the people that are working on the new Mariaville bridge. They said it will be open September 15th.

I hardly ever use it so I really didn't miss it. But I did go by that area today, and I must say ithe new bridge does look impressive. Let's just hope it is just as safe as it is impressive looking.

It's honestly been annoying that this bridge has been closed and I can't wait until it's reopened.  I always used that bridge, whether it's to head out Mariaville Road to someplace like Stewart's or out to Maple Ski Ridge or to use this as a quick way to cut over towrds the Thruway, taking backstreets to Mariaville, Mariaville to Burdeck, Burdeck to Duanesburg Rd.  I'm glad that it will finally be something I won't have to worry about, and the wonderful volunteers at South Schenectady can finally go home to their families to get a good night's rest.  Remember, since that bridge closed, they've had a full crew on to have a better response time, since the bridge has been out.

Oh trust me there BK, it wasn't THAT much of a hardship for them to HAVE to stay at their Taj Mahal with the full kitchen, weight room and big screen tv!

Well, it's finally opened, and working fine.

OOOOO...I'll have to drive over it...just because I can!

Okay, I drove over it today...cause I could. And it looks and feels 'new'! I guess that's about all you can say about a bridge.

How is the landscaping and the view from the top---is it tourist worthy or can we just count on being safe for the next 50years or until the 'big one' hits......
