the junction is not forgotten and will not be forgotten
but it is a two sided street  - do not look like you want to be forgotten

now the rant
and the same with the rest of rotterdam
i know it is fall but dust it off, clean the windows and show some pride
pull down the old unused signs, posts, falling trim and replace address numbers
put the loose trash in the trash or behind the building out of site

an individual change in assessment has no effect on your portion of the levy
buildings on or off the rolls do

i hear there are other offsets on the way for the water tower

tippy

No scare tactics. Just a good old (60 year old) tank with a 40 year life expectancy. How is that for getting the old money's worth? Time to pay the piper and replace and upgrade? Is it worth the 150 bucks a year or so for 20 years that it will cost in a few years IF there are no cell tower leases? You would have to ask your realtor how easy it would be to sell the house with poor pressure and an uncertain water system. It is like buying a 40 year old horse. I have seen 40 year old horses. Twice in my life. Most don't live that long.

But most of you are right. He should have not bothered, and just let the next administration take the heat when it failed. That would have been easier. And "cheaper" today. Thank you, Gene, for your alternate solution.

Do you guys have any clue that the junction is made up of mostly poor people. I am one of the lucky ones that the town thinks my house is worth 400,000...so I get to pay 4 time the others...lucky me. Maybe when I pull up to the gas station down here, I should pay 4 times the cost of a gallon of gas.....i have no problem paying for the water, but why based on the value of my house ( usage )...give me a meter...you are speaking the obvious, but you are not looking at the cost and the poor folks that are getting burdened with such a large cost. 600 users and more than half have assessed values in the lower hundreds...I should be kissing steves a** for all he has done...doubled my taxes in the past year and sticking me with an additional 500+ bucks a year for water...you guys are right what am I thinking !!! We need to be prepared for all this growth out here...( LOL )just like you need to be prepared for all the Hamburg street growth..cant wait to hear the bitchin when the cost of those sewers hit ya,,,if ever and no body wants to invest out there anyway.

Are you trying to lie about the water bill or are you just so misinformed that you stopped making sense? I think you have an issue with what the water costs you. you are NOT paying an extra five hundred bucks for water. If you have a duplex you could be paying 300 more in a few years, but you should not see that kind of increase, the math does not support it! What is your alternative suggestion as to the water. Do you really want a meter? Have you priced those lately? You would have to pay for your meter too, you understand there isn't a meter fairy that makes them and hands them out to poor water districts for free. And then you really think that would solve the problem and give you CHEAPER WATER? YOU STILL WOULD NEED A NEW TANK, BIAGGIO!

You should make friends with some folks that live up in Saratoga county and ask what their water district fees are WITH METERS and when they resucitate you and you come to, you can re-engage in this conversation. I think you in the Mallozzis are in the strike up the b**ch category about living in big houses. Mine is 1100 sq feet. BUY A SMALLER HOUSE THEN WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY? A bigger house will generally use MORE WATER BECAUSE THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE LIVING THERE!!!!!!! Doesn't that make sense to you?

I tell you what, you should pay less tax, I should pay less tax, but until you get the state to change it's mandates then it ain't gonna' happen. When you stop putting in liberals into every office who think we need new mandates every day then maybe the growth of spending will slow, but you haven't figured that out yet.

Lie ? You have got to be one of the rudest people on this thing and YOU sir dont have a clue...you are misinformed. Look at the math and tell me what the cost would be for a house assessed at 400,000 would be.NO I dont want to live a little house like yours ! Great fix to the problem. Live like you...please. Think before you speak....What do you mean in a few years...its now, yeah stevey boy is playing a political move by explaining the cost is nothing this year...and yes some of you ( GB ) not so bright people believe it....Before you respond again...please do your homework you dont understand the costs.SEE YA.....

And when pataki(r) was in and the reps controlled, what exactly did they do? NOTHING! They are all the same. I say cut the dems and reps off at the knees and let a new independent, not party beholden people emerge.

BT--I like that  you think big you get big.  But in this case you cannot eliminate the two major parties and expect a third party to rise to the top.  If that were true how come "Conservatives" Working Familiy and Green haven't displaced one or both of the others.  Possibly NNTP will have a winner in Brad but they cannot sweep it and you know WHY!

It all depends on the message that the party is pushing and most of the time the people don't want it. Right now the taxpayer doesn't like the message the two largest parties are selling.

The bottom line is, people choose to buy a house next to I-890 - knowing there will likely be a noise problem - then in 5/10/15/20 years b**ch about it and ask for a wall to be put up and the trash to be cleaned by the town/county/state. (Remember this from a few years ago?)

People choose to live in the Junction - they know the status of the water tanks, they know they'll have to be replaced. They chose to buy / stay there.

People choose to live in Highbridge, knowing there's no municipal sewers - then in 5/10/15/20 years b**ch about it and ask for the rest of the town to help pay the bill cause they shouldn't have to.

It's like buying a house next to a dump or toxic landfill that's been marked for 20 years - then bitching to the town/county/state that you shouldn't have to live like that.  Nobody forced you to buy that house. Do your homework, investigate

If you don't like it, move, or better yet - don't buy there to begin with. If you can't find a good place to live, might I suggest out of NY - it really is much better when you're not drinking the NY kool kook-aid, and not as expensive / inconvenient / hard to move as you might think.

'poor' as compared to what/whom??? you, Africa, Afganistan etc??? what/who??......are you ashamed of
what you own? cheap/greedy? I dont know about the rest of your assessment,,,,,but do you want every
thing to stay the same....you are educated and know that nothing ever does.....I have no rose
colored glasses....if you do maybe I should borrow them or if you have an extra pair let me know...

but, besides the water(that everyone needs and we live in America not Afganistan) let me know where
you find value other than oil barrels filled with $$........because really that is the only other option
here.....

BTW---the 'hamburg street mayor' was very short sighted.....JMHO
