Did they file with EEOC...well, not sure if that agency applies in these cases, but even if it does, I have no clue if they filed with them. But they obviously must have made some legal moves to have Billie boy personally settle and for FOX to settle.

No, what it does is a few things. 1) Because $10M is really nothing if you have $500M to make it 'go away' quickly and quietly. 2) Because if you drag it out into court, you'll not only keep your name being dragged in the mud by the press but nobody will want to deal with you. 3) Even if you did nothing wrong, lawyers are going to eat up that cash fast. Not only that, but this is a civil matter not a criminal one. So it's not about 'beyond a reasonable doubt'. All a judge or civil jury has to believe is 51%. That judge or jury might give her WAY more than 10M. At this point you might as well forget about your life.

I hear you....but personally I would go to court and not settle. That's just how I'm wired if accused falsely. My reputation is worth $10M in court costs vs. $10M in easy path rewarding lies.

i KNOW of a case where a supervisor said to a single mom....'i don't know how you do it. Working and raising kids. I commend you' He was brought up on sexual harrassement charges for saying THAT! The company paid her $8,000....and she settled.
There had to be more to it, because no court would have claimed that was sexual harassment! So for the company to pay here only $8k (peanuts), there had to be other issues, and for her to accept that little amount, she obviously understood she could never prevail on a sexual harassment charge. 2+2 doesn't equal 4 here.
