A vehicle caught fire in Rotterdam Saturday afternoon. The Schenectady County Unified Communications said the Pine Grove Fire Department responded to a 1 p.m. call of a vehicle fire in the area of Guilderland Avenue and Steeple Way. Resident Ronald Severson, of 3411 Guilderland Ave., said in an email that an SUV "exploded and burst into flames in front of our house." "We were eating lunch when we heard the 'boom,'" Severson wrote. The "SUV was fully engulfed in the few seconds that it took to get to the front porch."
