AMSTERDAM - Raw sewage is spilling into the Mohawk River in Amsterdam.
The DEC Sewage Alert estimates as of 10 a.m. Tuesday, more than 300,000 of gallons had spilled into the Mohawk River in Amsterdam and it is still flowing.
A broken pipe is being blamed.
Crews are working on it but there is no word on when repairs might be made.
NewsChannel 13 has calls into DEC, the Amsterdam City Engineer and both the Latham and Cohoes water districts which draw drinking water from the Mohawk.
