There's a house listed for sale on Parkwood, it's in that real estate section of yesterday's paper.  1192 Parkwood.  Assessed for $69,380, the owner is asking, get this.  $239,000

ROFLMAO !!!!

Website for it has no photos other than the outside but it's listed as being completely remodeled.   If it has been totally remodeled a good realtor and seller would show the photos.

Sure, it may have been remodeled, if it has, then what happened to the building permit?   Was one issued?   Building permits ARE required.  And building permits document the value of the remodel and that results in an increase in the assessment.  There was a letter in the paper maybe a year ago from someone on maybe Plymouth Ave who made a small change, maybe repaired the front porch or something that the city HURRIED and increased his assessment by maybe $5,000.

So why has the city not reassessed this house.  Hey, it is HIGHLY HIGHLY DOUBTFUL that the house will sell for even HALF of it's asking price, but still, a remodel and the city fails to increase the assessment.

Once again, PROOF POSITIVE that the mayor and his assessor and building department are UNQUALIFIED AND INCOMPETENT!

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Oh it's been remodeled. They worked on it all summer; replaced the Windows, painting, etc. haven't been inside ever, so I don't know the extent of work that was done inside, but it may not have been to the point of requiring permits. If the improvements are just cosmetic it will not reflect in the assessment price.
