DV will NOT answer that question, that is 10,000% GUARANTEED.   But he will cheer for Galesi getting the money because the money is coming from the financially struggling taxpayers, and DV is NOT a taxpayer.

SO WHAT???????

let the so called 'struggling taxpayers' MOVE!!!

and don't give me the bullcrap story on how they can't...blah blah blah!!!

If Galesi is getting any money at all.......they are getting it via the ELECTED powers that be.

ELECTED!
ELECTED!
ELECTED!

And the reps would be doing the EXACT same thing!!!!

cause politicians are just that STUPID!!! BUT THEY ARE ELECTED and RE-ELECTED by the people!!!

While Metroplex has the authority to offer low interest loans and other incentives including pilots, the press report only says that a pilot agreement was given.  So no public monies were given in the form of a loan - at least as far as it is being reported in the media.  Metroplex's meetings are broadcast publicly and any actions -such as a loan or other financial incentive - would be approved in an open meeting.

I think the deal is a good one.  Galesi is investing $5,000,000 of its own money to build the new warehouse and will continue to pay the taxes on the value of the vacant land PLUS 50% of the taxes (in the form of a pilot) on the value of the finished building  (each year those taxes will go up 5 points .. 50 to 55 to 60..and son on).    So the bottom line is that the taxpayers - of which I am one - are NOT losing anything -- and a new building is being built thus expanding our tax base and allowing for more economic activity and more jobs to created.  This will help ease the burden on struggling taxpayers.

I think the deal is a good one.  ....  This will help ease the burden on struggling taxpayers.

But there will still be a BURDEN ON THE POOR, financially struggling taxpayers!

DV, as you are NOT a taxpayer, you do not understand.   ANY financial burden on the financially struggling taxpayers in the form of making them pay even 5% of the taxes on a building owned by a billionaire is WAY TOO MUCH of a burden.

Taxpayers have their mortgages to pay, their power bills, food, medical insurance premiums, co-pays and deductibles, auto loans, auto insurance, auto maintenance, homeowner insurance, maintenance of appliances in the house, new roofs, new driveways, foundation repairs, furnace repairs, food, clothing, school supplies, children's activities, school field trips, non-food grocery bills, lawn mowers, snowblowers, replacement windows, put money away for children's college, try to put money away for their own retirements.  And that is on top of paying THEIR OWN taxes, and then you think it's no great burden to pay the taxes of a billionaire????????

Wow, you ARE a total nut case.  You have absolutely no idea what real life is about, since you are NOT a taxpayer, NOT a homeowner, have none of the house expenses, no food to buy for a wife and children, no putting money away for children's future, no health costs for wife and children.

Naturally someone who does NOT pay taxes will cheer for making the taxpayers pay for the taxes of a billionaire.

Maybe you need to sit with your homeless families and ask them how they could manage paying the taxes of a billionaire.  Just because your two mommies have a lavish new 3,000 square foot house, you think everyone lives like that.

So the bottom line is that the taxpayers - of which I am one -

What a dreamer.   How many years and NOT ONE TEEN WEENY piece of evidence showing your name on a tax roll as a taxpayer.

When a property owner does not pay it's FULL taxes, the part of the taxes that they do not pay is paid for by the rest of the taxpayers.   Naturally as you are NOT a taxpayer, you don't comprehend this.

It is a blatant lie for anyone to suggest that the taxpayers are paying for this project or paying any of the taxes on this proposed building.

#1 - Galesi will be paying the full value of the property taxes (in the form of a pilot  - which is still revenue to the local & county governments whether one calls it a property tax payment or a pilot payment) on the existing vacant land on which the building is to be built - taxpayers are not being asked or required to pay a penny of that.

#2) Galesi is spending $5,000,000 of its own money to build the new building - taxpayers are not being asked or required to pay a penny of that.

#3) Galesi will be paying 50% of the property tax (in the form of a pilot - which is still revenue to the local & county governments whether one calls it a property tax payment or a pilot payment) on the value of the new building.  Those payments will increase in 5% steps until it reaches 100%.    Now the local and state governments would NOT have had this revenue if the land remained vacant.  So these payments are NEW revenue to the local and county governments.   Taxpayers are being asked or required to pay a penny of that. In fact,  the taxes paid by Galesi on this new building has the potential to help DECREASE the amount of taxes that the rest of the taxpayers pay.

Then add in the economic impact of construction jobs and jobs created by the business that occupies the new building.  Add the economic impact of those workers buying coffee, lunch, gas, etc. from businesses in the town.

Any reasonable and intelligent person -- even a reasonable and intelligent elementary school student -- would see that this project is a good thing for our town and our county.  That just leaves "the usual suspects" (nayboobs) to b**ch and moan and LIE about the project.

It is a BLATANT LIE that you tell.  Of course, as you are NOT a taxpayer, you do NOT understand.

Read the words YOU wrote....  "Galesi will be paying 50% of the property tax"

Uh, Mr Liar Non Taxpayer, if Galesi is paying 50% of the property taxes, please tell us DV, come on buddy, tell us WHO pays the OTHER 50% of the property tax bill???????????

Does the other 50% of the tax bill come from money on a money tree?

Does the other 50% of the tax bill fall from the sky?

You are SO VERY IGNORANT, you have absolutely NO understanding of home ownership and paying taxes.

Now tell us WHO pays the rest of the tax bill??????   Who, DV?   YOU certainly do NOT.

I have to agree here.

and altho I am not a fan the METROPLEX/GILLEN nor the fact that Galesi gets what ever they want(only cause he's smarter)...........this does NOT sound like a bad deal at all.

Unless they are leaving other info/facts out of this announcement....it's sounds ok.

as far as the struggling taxpayers....there clearly aren't many of them, cause the powers that be keep getting elected over and over and over again!!

and again..........it would be ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENT if the reps were in control of the purse strings!

so for those who don't like it...........get the hell out or shut the hell up!!
