Guess you aren't capable of putting things in perspective!
If a tornado touched down and they hadn't issued a watch or warning, you'd be bitching about that!
Quoted Text
A watch is issued when conditions are favorable, for example, either for a severe thunderstorm or tornadoes, it doesn't mean severe weather is imminent.
Warnings mean that severe weather is imminent and is based on specific criteria and existing reports received by the NWS.

we're gonna have showers all day....drive carefully!!!
we're gonna have snow showers......the roads and walkways MAY be slippery!!!
it's gonna thunder/lightning......take cover!!!!

Twist of fate in 1998: Remembering the Mechanicville tornado

Yea... Bumbler knows that it's only HYPE... No Tornado would ever hit our area!

MECHANICVILLE -- Fifteen years ago the sky touched the ground in Mechanicville and tore houses
from their foundations.

An F3 tornado slashed a 30.5-mile gouge down Route 67 in a little over a half hour at 4:22 p.m.
May 31, 1998. At its base it was a half-mile of 150-to-200 mph hour winds, strong enough to tear
the bark off trees, flop cars and hurl bricks through the sides of tractor trailers.

"They were like brick bullets going through the steel side of that truck," said Mechanicville City
Historian Paul Loatman.

Where there had been trees, he said, "it looked like a giant had come down the hill and scythed
them down."

Let's not forget 1960!
Quoted Text
The forecast for June 24, 1960, Ernest Townsend's last day on the job for the Rotterdam Police Department in the Schenectady Union-Star read:

"Warm and humid with showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and a high around 80 today. Occasional gusty winds..."

Around 7:20 p.m., Townsend looked up from his normal evening duty of directing traffic outside Gabriel's Supermarket on Curry Road.

The sky was a strange orange and everything was incredibly quiet -- "so quiet I knew something was happening," Townsend, now 84, remembered a half-century later.

He'd heard the Weather Bureau in Albany had issued a warning for "damaging winds and possibly an isolated tornado" that evening. That was hard to believe, though -- twisters are rare around here. But with the sky, and the silence, he said, "I felt that something was coming right toward us."

I may have missed it, but as far as I know there were no tornado warnings issued for our area yesterday, only severe thunderstorm warnings. If that's the case, then the National Weather Service is 0 for 2 for the last 2 days.

Not only do I believe that, but I,m convinced that they conspire with the local TV weather people, (the guy on channel 10 in particular), as well.
