I recently watched "Going Clear", on HBO.  I knew that Scientology was BS crazy, but I just
assumed that they were the typical harmless cult religion.  It turns out these crazies are nuttier and
more violent than I ever imagined.

Some of their beliefs:
Quoted Text
Scientology creation story
When Scientologists reach level OT III, they are shown the "secret materials," as director and
former member Paul Haggis described them:
L Ron Hubbard's hand-written account of the creation myth. According to this, 75 million years ago
a galactic dictator named Xenu froze people and dropped their bodies into volcanoes. From
there, the disembodied spirits, or thetans, apparently jumped into newborns bodies. According
to Hubbard, these multiple thetans crowded in our bodies are the source of our anxieties and fears.

These nutjobs make the Mormon Creation Story sound almost reasonable!

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Yes.  Much like Jonestown was "their choice".

Unlike Jonestown which happened out side of the USA, the child abuse, assaults, blackmail,
human trafficking (obtaining labor by force or the threat of force), physical abuse, torture and civil
rights violations, happened on US soil and are subject to US Prosecution.

we are forced to 'labor'....otherwise it's torture/mental abuse and physical abuse to stand in line for services....

you can't get food/housing etc without it....still 'force'...we like to call it security/safety net etc.....but it's just that scary.

the social sciences....gotta love 'em.....

The mental abuse of war propaganda and nationalism is much more harmful to children.  Dying in immoral invasions and killing thousand of woman and children is far worse.  Too bad nobody is prosecuted for those crimes.

A MONEY MAKER FOR SURE!

Don't think Gov Almighty has the right to step in when they in fact are actually paid by us the taxpayers to commit the same crimes/violations/atrocities globally with no public outcry.

So again...........their personal choice.
don't care!

there's bigger fish to fry!

The same thing as your reference to Jonestown and deadly cults.  I just gave an example of a much deadlier cult with brainwashed followers that will stay loyal to the cult no matter how much death and destruction it causes.  Oh...And nobody gets prosecuted when this cult kills hundreds of thousands.

So Cissy sees Jonestown, Scientology and the US Govt to be the same thing.
Yet only opposes the US Govt... not the murders of Jonestown or the abuse of Scientology.

Where did I say that?  I'm just pointing out the levels of abuse and death caused by cults.  Some cults get prosecuted some don't.
