Revolt by Security Personnel May Define Hillary as the Weak Candidate

Good news: America still has federal employees who will risk their careers to express profound disagreement with major policy errors
By Austin Bay • 06/21/16 2:00pm

51 dissident State Department Foreign Service Officers (FSOs), the Dissent 51, signed a Dissent Channel cable savaging the Obama Administration’s Syria policy and implicitly attacking the Obama Administration’s inept diplomatic and military strategy for eliminating the anti-Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Usually one FSO (or at most a handful) sign a dissent cable. 51 is an unprecedented number of government line officers signing a dissident document which—Obama Administration denials to the contrary—could put their careers at risk.

The Dissent 51 FSOs demonstrate that America still has federal employees who will risk their careers to express profound professional disagreement with what they believe are major policy errors which damage U.S. interests, in this case long term U.S. security interests in the Middle East and Europe.

WOW...WHAT A SURPRISE.....NOT!!!!!!
Corruption exemplified!
FBI recommends no charges for Clinton over email system at State Department
Quoted Text
WASHINGTON — The FBI recommended Tuesday that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton should not face criminal charges over her use of a private email server as secretary of State, even though she and aides were "extremely careless" in handling classified information.

While FBI Director James Comey criticized Clinton and her aides for carelessly handling classified, top-secret information, he said there is no evidence she intended to do so, the basis for criminal charges.

"Although there  is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information," Comey said in a 15-minute statement explaining the investigation, "our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case."

Comey said his agency acted apolitically, and went where the facts took them. While, technically, the FBI makes recommendations to Justice Department prosecutors over potential charges, Attorney General Loretta Lynch has said she would accept the bureau's views in this case.

"In looking back at our investigations into mishandling of removal of classified information, we cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts," Comey said.

The previously unannounced statement came three days after FBI agents interviewed Clinton about her use of private email while secretary of State.

After the Saturday interview, Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said the former secretary of State was "pleased to have had the opportunity to assist the Department of Justice in bringing this review to a conclusion."

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump had predicted that Clinton will not face charges, claiming the Justice Department investigation has been "rigged" in her favor.

Trump and other Republicans protested a recent meeting between Attorney General Loretta Lynch and former president Bill Clinton. The two said they discussed personal matters, not the investigation.

Comey spoke just hours before Clinton campaigns in Charlotte along with President Obama, their first joint political appearance of the year.

BULL$HIT
How can they possibly believe that people buy this crap...this is ridiculous.
If I find myself on the wrong side of the law in life I will have to remember to tell them "I had no intent to violate the law."
That would make everything okay then and I should not be charged!  WHAT CRAP!
The damning things the FBI said about Clinton's email
Quoted Text
FBI Director James Comey announced Tuesday that the bureau is recommending the Justice Department pursue no charges against Hillary Clinton for her use of a personal email account to handle government business.

But he said that is largely because investigators found Clinton and her team had no intent to violate the law.

It was good news for Clinton, but Comey's statement was full of bad news, too. Clinton and her team "were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information," Comey said.

Here is what the FBI found:

She sent and received classified information

While some of the emails Clinton sent have been declared classified retroactively, Comey said 110 emails in 52 email chains were classified at the time they were sent.

Of those:

• Eight email chains contained "top secret" information.

• 36 chains contained "secret" information.

• Eight email chains contained "confidential" information, the lowest classification level.

"None of these emails should have been on any kind of unclassified system," Comey said.

Some emails have been lost

Clinton and her lawyers handed over to the State Department 30,000 emails that they said were the business-related emails from her private system. The personal emails were deleted. But Comey said that in this process, it is "likely that there are other work-related emails that they did not produce ... that are now gone because they deleted all emails they did not return to State, and the lawyers cleaned their devices." The FBI could not recover these.

Her email might have been hacked

Comey said there was no direct evidence Clinton's email was hacked, but other people she corresponded with were hacked, and her use of a private email system was well-known. She also used her email while traveling "in the territory of sophisticated adversaries." Thus, he said, "it is possible that hostile actors gained access to Secretary Clinton’s personal email account."

Many servers, not one

The story of Clinton's emails has been about her use of a private server to run her own email system, but Comey said, "Secretary Clinton used several different servers and administrators of those servers during her four years at the State Department, and used numerous mobile devices to view and send email." Old servers got decommissioned as new equipment was brought online, and information on old devices was scrapped.

So why no charges?

Comey said the key here is that investigators found no intent to break the law. Cases that have been filed in similar cases have been based on "clearly intentional and willful mishandling of classified information" or "indications of disloyalty to the United States." In the Clinton case, those elements were not found.
