And as me and bumble posted we already give 2-3 months a year to the government, is that not enough? You take that 2-3 months and place that over 50+ years and you do the math. But I'm guessing this is not the "giving" you are talking about, you want more of our blood and sweat and possibly our lives like those who were kidnapped, held hostage, made to go against their religious beliefs, and sent to die in Nam, 17,725 to be exact. If that is your take on "giving" you can have it, I won't have any part in it. How is it any different from say ISIS who is kidnapping, holding hostage, making others change their religion, and then cutting their throats afterwards, it is no different.

^5....well said!!

this forum has a looong history of berating servicemen

and it also has a history of berating the 'peace makers/anti-war' folks.

if ya wanna take part in the 'government issue killing machine'..........have at it....it's your CHOICE!
if ya wanna be a peace maker/anti-war person....have at it....it's your CHOICE!

Are you sure it's the "cause" and not the "person"?
Seems to me no one is against not wanting war...but it
also seems to me the berating is to the people on how they
present their views and that they drag certain "people" into
the fray on purpose, rather than dealing with the "cause" only!
IMHO Just sayin'

Understand.
But I find...imho....that no one on a message board should take anything 'personal'.
(well except mc1 who makes posts to only ONE...and clearly/sadly makes it PERSONAL.)

Example....if I was gay and there were anti-gay folks berating aka voicing their opinion re, gays...should I take it personal? no
If I had an abortion...and there were anti-abortion folks berating aka voicing their opinion re, abortion...should I take it personal? no
If I were rich and there were folks berating aka voicing their opinion re, rich folks....should I take it personal? no
If I were a welfare bum and there were folks berating aka voicing their opinion re, welfare bums...should I take it personal? no
My point is.......WE make it personal!!!!
We take/make and anonymous message board and make it personal and we shouldn't.
There are some topics/posts here that go against the core of my being.
But I don't take/make it personal.
IMHO...just sayin'

Understand...but as you say, "WE make it personal!!!!" and "... make it personal and we shouldn't. "
There's the whole basis right there...you have a few that MAKE IT PERSONAL intentionally...so why
shouldn't it turn into anger and defensive comments and name calling in return.  Me personally,
will stand along side you "anti-war", as I've said. But when you make direct accusations against
me that are horrible and unfounded lies, then YAH, now it's personal and that's how I will take it.
JUST SAYIN'

Henry and Cissy want to T A K E, but they never want to G I V E!
They both whine like a 2 year old when they have to 'pay for services' yet they use those services
daily.  Again... the ME MENTALITY!

" I never asked for that sewer system" even though I use it daily.   Or, "how come I have to pay for

They seem to have no problem with the rest of us paying their share.  ME ME ME ME ME!

Yup your typical response from box, nothing of importance regarding the topic and a cartoon he found on google images

So was my post in error?  Do you complain about taxes, all taxes, even those taxes that are
spent directly on services that you use?

Nope and I stated my opinion many times before, I have zero problem paying for any services I use, although if I don't use them I should not be forced to pay for them, make services optional it wouldn't be hard, in fact many areas are privatized for things like fire departments, if you want their service you pay, don't pay no service.

And there is something wrong with your " i already gave at the office " arithmetic .  Life doesnt really work that way if it did- you would be able to loose weight and you should have money in the bank.

Im guessing that you cant and you dont.  if you did you should have a hundred K in the bank by now and are a lean mean dancing machine

Please tell me the difference.

ISIS kidnaps, holds hostage, make people convert their religion, and then kills them overseas

US Draft, Kidnaps, holds hostage, makes people go against their religious beliefs, and then kills them overseas

Are you denying this actually took place or do you want me to sugar coat our version to make it sound as if it was for the greater good.....which I'm guessing ISIS believes the same

So as I posted... as long as it benefits ME ME ME I'll pay for it.  But if it benefits anyone else... screw em!
Henry should be taxed by the mile.  Every road he drives on that is out of his taxing district, he should be assessed a fee, plus legal
and administrative expenses, to reimburse those taxpayers he is presently screwing.

The US government kidnapped and jailed thousands of people that refused conscription and go and fight in Vietnam.  Vietnam, a nation and a people that was in the midst of a civil war, and was no threat to the United States or it's citizens. Can you tell me the difference?

I always love this argument, from a guy that has his property taxes reduced because of military status.  Ahhhh...screw'em!  You deserve the discount.  That's not selfish though...no-no-no...It's deserved-you "earned" it.  LOL!!!  Please, tell me you deserve it because you saved us from the Vietnamese invasion.
