Here's the lesson....YOU FAILED!!!!
you were wrong about my postings and tried every which way to
make yourself right and failed....lesson learned, you are a DUMBASS.
You fail to comprehend what people write and then give it your spin...failed again!
You claimed that Box edited the quotes, and he didn't...your own post proved that...failed again.
Then you tried the smartphone thing and failed again...my phone didn't edit the title and
I think it's BS that you claim yours did!!!!!
You are once again left with egg on your face and your skanky foot in your mouth...
that's worth more than an apology, because once again YOU FAILED DUMBASS!!!!!

PS - Be sure you give credit on all your future posts on who is saying whatever
you post, since that is your new spin on the whole thing....I'LL BE WATCHING YOU!!!!

TA TA DUMBASS!

Lol...You will be watching...But not comprehending, and certainly never taking a position.

Your PS was the only worthwhile sentence in that gibberish.  Yes, I'll be sure to place quotes so they are read in the correct context.  If I misquote or omit who is being quoted that causes a reader to be misled to whose words are being quoted, I welcome the correction.

So again...Who said Dick Cheney "fears being tried as a war criminal"?  Not Dick Cheney, it was the opinion of former Powell chief of staff.

Not spin bud...accuracy.

Well, if you read AND understood the article, like me,
then you wouldn't have to continue asking stupid questions
and trying to make yourself right..."FAILED AGAIN"!!!!

JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!!
JUST BECAUSE MC1 SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO!!!!!

After following this thread for a day I feel like I'm being water-boarded. Now THIS is torture.

Yup!

It's interesting that so many on the Right are backing Dick (Shoot em in the face) Cheney
when the UN and many others consider him a subject in a War Crimes Trial.

I agree the VP at the time of the torture might be a good witness except that in this case, Cheney
is complicit in the torture.

It's like asking OJ, "Did you do it?"

I'm not a "right winger", and believe every living Predident and Vice President except for possibly Carter should be convicted of war crimes.

Let me state first I have NO problem with CIA interrogating, the drone program, any of it....as long as it serves a positive purpose in US interests.
If the "enhanced techniques" don't result in useful info, then why use it? If it does, use it more...

But as far as this "report" is concerned, I see nothing but selective outrage...from Dems and from pubs...These "enhanced interrogation" techniques involve less than 100 suspects....with only ONE death...but at the same time, we've killed well over 200 innocent Pakistani children with our drone program... if we want to talk about torture, what about the torture the parents of those kids are going through?...call it a mistake, collateral damage, whatever..these kids are still just as dead and the parents torture isn't any less real...

Stop with the politics and realize war is a dirty business where frankly the only thing that matters is who wins...

First off... F*** the UN. Nobody really gives a sh!t on what they have to say. Let them try (they won't) to bring up 'War Crimes'. We'll see what happens when all the funding from us is cut off. I'll bet that paper tiger changes it's tune real fast.

On the other hand, maybe a trial would be good. We can expose the hypocrisy that is the UN for not bringing up charges on the dozens of leaders who torture just for fun. Then we can defund them.

Either way....F*** the UN.

The other thing is it's kind of hard to have sympathy for people that killed 3000 on 9/11. So I don't really have a problem smacking them around a bit. I'll also garner that, given the choice, a terrorist would choose to be waterboarded instead of being shot by a drone at a wedding or picnic that will kill your entire family.

Droning is the moral high ground for the left.

This will probably be lost on Buck, but I'll give it a shot anyway:

No Exceptions For Torture

Quoted Text
Fear is blinding, hateful, and vengeful. It makes the end justify the means.
And why not? If torture can stop the next terrorist attack, the next suicide bomber,
then what's wrong with a little waterboarding or electric shock?

The simple answer is the rule of law. Our Constitution defines the rules that guide our
nation. It was drafted by those who looked around the world of the eighteenth century
and saw persecution, torture, and other crimes against humanity and believed that
America could be better than that. This new nation would recognize that every
individual has an inherent right to personal dignity, to justice, to freedom from cruel
and unusual punishment.

We have preached these values to the world. We have made clear that there are certain
lines Americans will not cross because we respect the dignity of every human being.
That pledge was written into the oath of office given to every president, "to preserve,
protect, and defend the Constitution." It's what is supposed to make our leaders
different from every tyrant, dictator, or despot. We are sworn to govern by the rule
of law, not by brute force.

We cannot simply suspend these beliefs in the name of national security. Those who
support torture may believe that we can abuse captives in certain select circumstances
and still be true to our values. But that is a false compromise. We either believe in
the dignity of the individual, the rule of law, and the prohibition of cruel and unusual
punishment, or we don't. There is no middle ground.

The U.S. has about 25,000 prisoners in solitary confinement, just another statistic the U.S. is #1 in, and it's fine reputation for protecting human rights.  Most Human Rights organizations and the UN consider that torture.  How bout you?  Do you think it qualifies as cruel and unusual punishment by constitutional standards, or torture by international standards?

In general solitary can be  a form of torture.

"Inmates continue to perpetrate violence even after they’ve lost their freedom and are
living behind prison walls. So correction staff face a dual challenge:
1) provide safety and security to both inmates and fellow staff, while
2) also implementing programs designed to rehabilitate inmates so that
they live as law-abiding citizens once they return to society.
Disciplinary confinement in the SHU is a critical tool for ensuring this stability and safety
inside a correctional facility — both for other inmates and the staff working there.

Zeid Raad al-Hussein, the U.N. high commissioner for human rights, said it's "crystal clear" under
international law that the United States, which ratified the U.N. Convention Against Torture in 1994,
now has an obligation to ensure accountability.

The Convention Against Torture and Inhuman Treatment or Punishment
With a view to receiving the advice and consent of the Senate to ratification, subject to certain
reservations, understandings, and declarations, I transmit herewith the Convention against
Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. The Convention was
adopted by unanimous agreement of the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1984
, and entered into force on June 26, 1987. The United States signed it on April 18, 1988. I also
transmit, for the information of the Senate, the report of the Department of State on the Convention.

By giving its advice and consent to ratification of this Convention, the Senate of the United States
will demonstrate unequivocally our desire to bring an end to the abhorrent practice of torture.

RONALD REAGAN
The White House,

No Boxy, you are the one who is lost.

It's only a problem with you now because the bitter Dems decided to politicize it. No Dem had a problem signing off it, both openly and behind closed doors.
