I love the news story that starts out with a picture of a big bad scary gun that is not even included in the recall. That picture is of the 1911R1 not the rifles listed in this story. But I have to say it is sad that this could have been avoided if Remington listened to the designer of the trigger 70 years ago, and authorized a $.05 change to a product that could have save dozens of lives and save 100's from injuries. Corporate greed and stupidity at its best. Oh and my 700 has a ribbed trigger so I will be discharging my weapon purposely not accidentally. http://www.remington.com/pages.....l700-modelseven.aspxAnd as Henry mentioned The Ten Commandments of Firearms Safety 1. Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. 2. Firearms should be unloaded when not actually in use. 3. Don't rely on your gun's safety. 4. Be sure of your target and what's beyond it. 5. Use proper ammunition. 6. If your gun fails to fire when the trigger is pulled, handle with care. 7. Always wear eye and ear protection when shooting. 8. Be sure the barrel is clear of obstructions before shooting. 9. Don't alter or modify your gun and have it serviced regularly. 10. Learn the mechanical and handling characteristics of the firearm you are using. |
