Owner occupants with STAR exemption are supposed to get this "rebate."   The amount of the check as I understand it supposed to be equal to the increase in the school tax bill this year over last year, it was for us, rounded up to the nearest even dollar.

What I'm wondering is if Frankie and Mary Mary will get one despite not having paid their taxes for three years.  Same with former councilman Joe Allen in the same boat, delinquent for three years.  Oh yeah, how about the school board member who hasn't paid in three years getting a lavish taxpayer salary and suing the county.

The State budget provides tax relief by reimbursing homeowners for the increase in their
property taxes if their local govt or school district stayed under the states 2% property
tax cap.

philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

if taxpayers require reimbursements from paying their taxes:

THEN SOMETHING SMELLS LIKE SH!T IN THE SYSTEM......and I'm guessing it's spoiled oil that's greasing their palms....

it's like going into a bowling alley putting your money into the claw machine and getting nothing but a fu(king consolation prize of a small
soda....

Price Chopper reimburses a customer for spoiled food/over charges etc etc......for being 'put out'......

WTF is wrong with the system?

it's not consolidation because even 'streamlined' it will cost the same....they can't say that projected outcome blah blah blah
of the government crystal ball says it.

the government is reconciling the equalization or paying for votes which probably turns out to be the same thing....hahahahahahahaha

if the government has to hand out reimbursements then the government is dysfunctional...

movie theaters give out reimbursements if the movie fails and you don't get to see the whole movie.....

people get reimbursed when things GO WRONG!

rebates are for when people purchase a product (by choice) and the company gives you a 'reward' because like a dog you sniffed out
a 'sale'

The cost of issuing the check is only slightly higher than the average amount of the check. I'm positive that any of the deadbeats, if they got their hands on such a check, got it cashed faster than they've ever done anything in their lives. They are used to getting unearned funds, so they wouldn't waste any time thinking about what it's for, as they never make the connection of compensation the way the rest of us would.
