California should do us all a favor and ban plastic surgery.

Most everything you mentioned can be recycled. I have done that. I have also donated junk autos to causes that accepted them.
I'm sincerely sorry that you need to work as hard as you do to survive. I really am. Not wanting to be in that situation myself, I long ago chose a different path to happiness. Life is full of choices. The choices one person makes to live may not jibe with how another person chooses to live. I can tell you though, that the choice I made years ago has not disappointed me. I truly hope the path you chose will make you happy.
I never said I was sorry or regretted for working as hard as I do...I choose to because it supports the way I want my lifestyle to be, not just to survive. I recycle what I consider to be reasonable, and honestly, don't think about the rest,,, I sleep well at night, I assure you. |

Glad to hear that. I'm happy for you. |

Who absorbs the cost of the alternative? The consumer? I would like to see which lobby is behind the legislation. Most likely the industry that will be replacing plastic bags. Paper?
Of course the consumer will absorb the cost of the alternative silly. And also the cost related to low income folks who will be exempt from paying the ten cents per bag fee. Why would it be any other way? |

Composting is a great way to deal with kitchen waste.
The solution for lawn "waste" such as grass clippings and leaves is to use a mulching mower. My family has used mulching mowers for years when we cut the grass and, in the fall, clean up the leaves.
As for the plastic vs. paper debate, we have always preferred paper bags. |

Plastic bottles are a bigger environmental hazard than bags.
Plus don't forget that many places require clear plastic bags for your waste.
Government mandated use of plastic bags, will go by the wayside, like when government funded schools used to have kids make ashtrays in school.
Governments know everything.

Actually, revenues for the paper industry are up. They have been for the past few years. |
