Sacandaga Lake, Sept 7 2014 Sand Island Bash!

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Boxy... you live at the lake? Or have a camp there?

I had a camp on Sacandaga for 30 years, but no longer.
I still spend a lot of time there.

Our family has had a camp there since 1954...
I have a lot that I am going to build on and move to full time in about 5-7 years...Commute to Albany will be a B!tch, but with a hybrid car and an extra 40 min up and back, it will be worth it.

Our camp was in the Muscles Harbor area, now the Lakeside Tavern & Marina.  I lived at the lake from June
till late Sept and commuted to Schdy to work.

My lot is in the town of Edinburg, almost directly across the lake from the I-Go-INN..
I'm looking at a 1hr 20 min commute one way, that's in good weather/traffic of course...
I can't see me doing it for 10 years, but for 5-7, I think I could..

I had fairly good roads for my commute... the ones you will travel are nothing but curves!

Fun in the summer, not so much in the winter... the "straightest" way in to Albany is to take sinclair rd to south shore, follow that through broadalbin to rt 30 and to the thruway...its only about 5 miles more and adds abt 7-10 min...

At the Broadalbin Stewarts, take the Hagaman-Broadalbin Rd (CR126) to Hagaman, then Manny's Corners
Rd to Truax Rd, then RT 5.  Pick up the Tway at exit 26.
You'll miss the slow pokes on Rt 30 and the stop & go through Amsterdam lights.

Thanks for the tip! I think I've gone the way on a few group motorcycle rides, but was never the leader...
