I get it....it's sad....

we can't use the term 'redskin' for a football team, which is meant to invoke power/fear/strength because it's considered
derogatory....well, then I suggest calling them the Washington GI's....you know because American soldiers are actually
saviors in the bigger scope of things, protecting their homeland much like the redskins, and the term GI is much
more PC.....

so yes, this poor guy feels bad and feels a need to act as everyone does for one thing or another....

breast cancer awareness
ALS awareness
heart health awareness
war awareness
autism awareness
etc
etc ......

nobody hates a soldier
nobody hates a person because of their diagnosis

the difference is in the choice....war is the diagnosis a soldier is not a disease....

a person with autism diagnosis doesn't get to choose their disease

Correct. More veterans take their own lives here at home than are killed in Afghanistan.

I consider the Afghanistan related deaths to be voluntary suicide as well.

Honoring people so more will do the same, is encouraging suicide.

People need to stop honoring the use of force.

Do something productive instead of destructive.

All the wasted lives, for what?

We accomplished nothing in Afghanistan or Iraq.

We have doubled the numbers of our enemies.

We could simply have bought Iraq for less than our saving them from evil has cost us.
