Personally, I shop at Garbriel's, Greulich's, the COOP, and Sahrs' -- and occasionally at Fresh Market, BJs and Sam's Club.

Greulich’s Market announced on its Facebook page Friday that it’s closing “for a little while,”

Not a huge surprise...Gabriels has established itself as the "go to" independent market in town...They are just too close in proximity...

I think, technically, it is in (T) Guilderland.  Still doesn't diminish another little guy struggling, and throwing in the towel.  Plus they employed people who will need to find work.

I'm not sure that's accurate. He's opening a second shop in Newton Plaza.

Like back taxes? Don't bet on them re-opening...
If they do, it will most likely be just Deli and Meats....good luck with that too..

True on the Guilderland, but we always felt like they were part of Rotterdam.  Did keep an eye on their ads because they had some good sales at times

GUILDERLAND -- A local landmark has closed its doors.

Greulich's Market on Carman Road has officially closed. A post on the store's Facebook page over the weekend says, "It's a sad day for Greulich's today, we sadly closed. We will let you know what we decide to do. Thank you all for the business!"

The market was known for its meat counter and the iconic cow sitting atop its roof

Kind of hard to believe that anyone mistaken about what town Gruelich's is located in.  It is 3/4 of a mile INSIDE the Town of Guilderland.

Greulich's hadn't been restocking their grocery shelves for about the past month.  So, we (my family) figured something was in the works.  The article in the newspaper seems to suggest that something is in the works.  Hopefully, they will reopen either under new management or some other option.

Greulich's was a great store.  Terrific deli and meat counter.  We need more small markets like that -- less of the big box supermarkets.
