From what I was able to read, Hobby Lobby objected to four of the thirteen birth control options under the ACA. Those options involved what the owners felt "ended life" i.e., the morning after pill... This is a narrow decision affecting "closely held" corporations with a small number of owners. It's hardly keeping women "barefoot and pregnant"

it doesn't really matter....they are small....and no one is made to work there....and if you are, almost every company has a mission statement and if theirs is something you don't agree with then don't work there....
women's birth control will be paid for because again, the woman is the weakest link in public support and need. women have the pregnancy women have the birth women have the kids I'm not by any means demonizing men. However, I will say that some women believe they can do just that and baby daddy is their pay check and the baby daddy doesn't deserve to raise his kids just because he is not the mother. Dad's do it differently, simple. However, father's can be nothing more than a sperm donor and don't care to be much more.
The system is the way it is because women believe it. Childcare is the next BIG INSTITUTION to keep women active in their own support and the social misnomer of "oh, so you're a mom. Do you have a career?"
So either way 'the state' gets the kids, aborted or in childcare institutions.....it's not about religion, it's always been about controlling the masses, it's just a matter of who your god is.
...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

You people do understand how narrow this ruling is right?
Is it a move in the right direction? Yes.
Is this the correct decision? Yes.
Is it going to have a major impact on Obamacare? No.
Boxy is just doing his usual 'pretend rage'

Another View: Hobby Lobby decision shows we need to get rid of the employer-based health insurance system
Quoted Text
“Today, the Supreme Court ruled in the Hobby Lobby case that if a ‘closely held’ corporation (a private one with a small number of owners) doesn’t want to abide by the requirement in the Affordable Care Act that all insurance plans offer preventive care including contraception at no cost, then it doesn’t have to. There are many ways to look at this decision and many implications, but for the moment, I want to focus on just one: This is yet more evidence that our system of employer-based health insurance has got to go.”
“The fact that most Americans get their health coverage through their employers is something that we all take for granted but has no logical purpose behind it whatsoever. No other industrialized country in the world does it this way, and the system didn’t develop in the United States because it made sense from any standard of efficiency, cost or providing superior benefits to citizens. It was an accident of history — one that would take some time and work to undo, but which is worth undoing. Not only that, both conservatives and liberals would have reason to support such a shift.”
I always thought we'd end up with a Govt Single Payer Health Insurance System, and I assumed it would be a Supreme Court decision that would force that move, but I never thought it would happen like this!

Government single payer health insurance? Like the VA? Or even medicare which when they rule, they rule, don't plan on your supplement plan to pay when medicare says no
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

No, the mind was just thinking, after the news started talking about how this ruling could do other things.
But think about it, if Hobby Lobby can say something violates their religious beliefs and the court supports them, then private landlords can refuse to rent to unmarried women with kids, or gay couples, based on their religious belief.
Maybe just thinking too much

And they should have that right, although the market may not be good for them in certain areas and they may wind up losing money down the road.

Yes, if a person discriminates, it reduces their customers and ultimately hurts themselves. At that point, I go into business renting property and marketing it to homosexuals and single women with children and whoever else is being turned down by other landlords.

It's ok Boxy...You went 'full retard' just like the bot that you are. I'll bet you don't even know what Hobby Lobby sued about.

The weaker his argument, the stronger his name calling. How immature!
