From an email, subject:
Why I Like Livin In The Deep South!

And my favorite:

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

That is NOT typical of most Southerners.  And, Schenectady has its "embarrassments" -- namely the nayboobs who make even the worst Southern rednecks look reasonable, well-mannered, well cultured, racially/ethnically tolerant and super intelligent by comparison.

Schenectady IS redneck compared to 'the city'....I hear it all the time from folks who have family here and there and have
lived in both.....

there's always the urban Walmart stores around filled with pajama bottom, slipper wearing, government served,
customers......

they may or may not have a gun and they may or may not have all their teeth....they look well nourished but have
no idea what they are eating because it's all wrapped up in a nice shiny package with some labels they can't even
read, thanks to the local public schools and the standard set forth by our leaders......but they blow up those cell
phones and you can hear their conversations from the parking lot.....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Of course just living in the south is different from being a redneck. Yes there are rednecks in Schenectady who think that that a woman that is out of his league bowls on a different night.. and you have to go outside to get somthing from the fridge.

‘SECEDE’ billboard taken down in Alabama

The billboard went up Friday in Montgomery, not far from a highway sign advertising the First
White House of the Confederacy, but Lamar Advertising removed the message after it received
complaints from motorists and advertisers threatened to stop doing business with the company.

League of the South, which has been designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law
Center, calls for southern states to secede and set up a Christian theocracy ruled by “Anglo-Celtic”
elites.

That's funny!  The Soviet Union satellite state seceded to the cheers of the US government and it's people.  I wonder how the SPLC feels about those states seceding?  Must be Anglo-Celtic elites.  Lol

Why am I not surprised that Cicero supports southern states seceding and setting up a Christian
theocracy ruled by “Anglo-Celtic” elites.

You sound like you have a prejudice against people of Anglo-Celtic heritage.  BTW - not all people of Anglo-Celtic origin harbor confederate sympathies.  Certainly, Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses S. Grant - both of whom were of Anglo-Celtic heritage - were not confederate sympathizers.

Why am I not surprised you believe what the SPLC writes?

Why am I not surprised box against peaceful secession?  Box supports the Abe Lincoln answer to peaceful secession - civil war(more accurately - war against secession).  I guess if you can't use slavery as the justification to massacre your fellow citizens, trump up some kind of theocracy bs.

BTW...just out of curiosity, is there a form of government that a seceding state can set up that you would support?

So you believe there never should have been an armed conflict to free slaves? Why does not
surprise me. Your racist view is we should have let them secede and let slavery exist.
AMAZING! What world do you really live in?

Well, you first have to believe the fairy tale that the civil war was fought to end slavery.  If you believe that fairy tale, there is no sense having a discussion.  It's AMAZING people still believe the fairy tale.

Oh that's right....you are the only one that knows the secrets of the Civil War....
Everyone the had history class knows it was not all about slavery.
Heard of the cotton gin????
Economic issues; states vs Federal rights; slavery; and yes, even the election of Lincoln
all were contributing factors to the war.
Soooooo........
Was the result that slavery was ended?

Yes, the 14th Amendment was also a result of the war against secession.
